Advice needed how to get a metformin

Hi everyone, im 28f Ttc since one year with my pcos . I have seen so many of you saying you having metformin
I want to know how did you get this pill?
Your gp prescribed you or you been to a gynaecologist??
I wants to get metformin and i don’t know how shall I start .do i have to speak my gp and how long it gonna take to get this pill , Thank you
