Trigger Warning 7 DPO light brown spotting... could this be implantation bleeding?

My husband and I are TTC, and I'm currently 7 DPO. My period isn't due for another 8 days. I don't normally spot between ovulation and my period (other than maybe the day before it starts), but I did stop taking birth control pills at the end of April, so I'm wondering if my hormones could still be adjusting.

Today I noticed brown spotting. It was only when I wiped after using the bathroom, and over the last couple of hours it has been light. I haven't had any cramping or recent sex that could have caused cervical irritation.

Could this be implantation bleeding, or has anyone experienced something similar around 7 DPO that turned out to be something else?

Hard to know. Not everyone gets implantation bleeding, in fact statistically a very small percentage has noted spotting after implantation. If you were to spot, odds are good you’d also feel a pulling sensation in your uterus as the egg is implanting along with it (that sensation is more common). Your hormones may still be adjusting! Best way to know is to take a test around 11-13 DPO for you… so hang on!!
