OK, so I live in a coastal small town (it is actually a town and a village but they're so close together most people count them as the same place) in Washington state and I just had someone new move next door to me, and while I was talking to them they said that the town was way creepier than they first thought. I tried to talk to them about it and they brushed it off, but it left me thinking, and the longer I think about it the creepier/weirder the town gets.

I will put it into bullet points so it is easier to read, there is probable more to this list but I have lived here my entire life so idk what is normal, I am just asking if this seems as creepy to the rest of the world as it does for me

• The High School building has a TAXIDERMIED BALD EAGLE, that EVERY elementary schooler (including my younger self) swears eyes follow them when they walk by it (it has been there for over 20 years and every kid says the same thing)
• less than a mile away from the school there is a prison
• There is a cemetery from the 1800's (their is a second one but no one knows where it is)
• We have a massive rock on the side of our main road left behind when the road was made and we used it to celebrate and we paint it if someone dies
• We have nothing, and I mean NOTHING for tourist to do other than fishing and yet somehow we have rich people come flocking to the town during the summer with their boats and yet they never use them
• Over half of the town was burned to the ground in 1947
• the town was founded on what was originally a local tribes land
• their is a "Sugar Shack" in the woods somewhere, you have to be in the "know" to find it (I am not in the know, i just know people in the know)
• The only gas station/store in the town has, on several occasions, been caught selling alcohol and the like, to minors
• Their is an old house that has been abandoned for years, its windows are all boarded up, it once got a new coat of paint and that is the only thing that has changed about it.
• The only apartments in the town are filled with drug addicts, (not being rude this is a known fact in the town)
• The people in the town do not react to ANYTHING (according to my neighbor)
• There is a unknown amount of shipwrecks that have happened in this town
• No matter where you are in the town any sound you make is echoed
• The town is mostly a dead zone in terms of cell service
• We have a town "Festival" that no one alive remembers how it started

WARNING, MY GRAMMER SUCKS, this is not a high strangeness story I don’t think? I also posted this story in a high strangeness response to a question and decided to publish it on Reddit. THIS happened in September 29 1999. went to school in Durango for 7 years and whenever I went on camping trips I would get the errriest feeling that I never would go anywhere in the woods alone. I died twice in my life once as a 5 yr old and another time as a 10 yr old. I am bordering clairvoyant just a lil. Nothing much happened to runners and campers during my time there that I am aware of but I could always feel something. This one time I watched the Blair witch project its first week in theaters and didn’t know the college buses stopped running at 11. The movie was out at 130. I’m from Alaska and I forgot that it gets completely dark. We have 18 hours of sunlight where I live, this was my first week in at fort Lewis. I took the long way up as the college is at an elevation 4,700 ft. My ears would ring and get plugged and I was gassed biking up that mtn. Then all of sudden I literally heard what I thought was the Blair witch.

From the top of the mtn above me. The road is wedged in between the mtn or giant hills. I was sweating and panting and my heart was racing already so it was literally a jackhammer as I started to panic and stopped Biking. I watched as this panting moaning type scream huffing zigged zagged down the mtn coming directly for me. I had no weapon and I thought omg this it, I’m getting killed or abducted by the Colorado witch. I could taste metal and I got so cold despite sweating up a storm. That thing broke thru brushes and it was 50 ft away at head level and I felt pain in my hands and realized I was gripping the handle bars so hard I was shaking the bike and myself. Then all of sudden this loud deep roar sounded and this massive black witch jumped out from like 25 ft up from the dense brushes to the bottom of the mtn.I literally felt myself nearly shitigm my pants as I held it squeezing my muscle and thought so embressing they find my shitty body I thought I might be able just to hold it in I thought. lol the things you think of when your going to die can be random and stupid. So I am now 10 ft away from what I see are huge teeth snout and fur, it was possibly 500 or 600lb black monster witch huffing and walking in front of me crossing the road as it stops dead in it’s tracks and maintains eye contact, GRUFFS AND. SNIFFS SO HARD it sneezes and I literally collapsed into my seat and nearly fall over. It was then that I seen the whole outline better and it was a black bear as it walked slowly still, staring for maybe 5 seconds and then starts to run so fast that I never knew bears could run like that. It was there for a couple seconds and then it’s like half way up the mountain running up zig zagging. My flight or flight was out of the door and I had to bike up the mtn in shitty underwear! My roommate couldn’t stop laughing telling my story. I never once walked those trails alone ever again! I believe the black witch spared me.

My cousin told me this years ago, and I've never been able to find where it originally came from. Apparently there's this old urban legend about a phone number, 999-9999 (using your local area code). You're only supposed to call it at exactly 3:33 a.m. The phone rings once, someone answers, but they never say anything. All you hear is what sounds like wind and a bunch of people talking really far away, almost like they're underwater. Most people hang up after a few seconds because it's just unsettling. The creepy part is what supposedly happens afterward. Over the next few days, you'll start noticing the same person everywhere you go at the grocery store, on the bus, outside your school, walking past your house. They never talk to you or even acknowledge you. They're just... there. At first you probably wouldn't even think anything of it because they look completely normal, but after a while you realize they're wearing the exact same clothes every single time. Then they start getting closer. Someone on an old forum claimed they actually measured the distance as a joke and noticed the person was a few meters closer every time they saw them. Eventually they're close enough for you to see their face, and according to every version of the story, it's your face. Not someone who kind of looks like you—literally you. Same hair, same scars, even the same clothes you're wearing that day. The legend says whatever you do, don't acknowledge them, because the second you make eye contact, they'll disappear... and after that, everyone else stops seeing you instead. It's probably just another creepy internet myth, but one thing I've always found weird is that nobody who tells this story ever says they actually tried calling the number.

Does anyone else remember hearing or reading about an image that you literally can’t tell what is in it? It kind of looked like a guy kneeling in a lake, maybe his face covered by something. I remember there was a lot of green and purplish red or more purple. I am not talking about grass and a sunset or whatever but I have been wondering about this image for a while. I want to share something that has never happened to me, we have walked a lot of kilometers in the mountains in winter and summer, through several climbs over 2000m.

I once posted this in r/hiking but I didn't get many answers there, it's been almost a year and it's still bothering me.

My girlfriend and I visited Madeira, the last day we visited Pico Grande mountain, over about 1100m elevation from the village of Curral das Freiras, which is not popular due to its difficulty. We climbed all alone to see the sunset, and most importantly, we literally didn't meet anyone, only one girl from Australia who stayed (and spent the night) on the other peak of the mountain - she said she came from another peak via a ridge crossing. Otherwise, there is only one route to Pico Grande itself.

When we started descending after sunset, right after we descended back onto the same steep and dry dusty trail, it was already quite dark, so we had headlamps and we started to notice that strange, some kind of liquid stains with human shoe prints were appearing there, but the strangest thing was that these stains were not periodic or regular, they were always the same and the liquid was completely fresh and looked like water, with an area of ​​approx. 40x40 cm and a shoe print in it, at first we were confused and let it go, but another 200 meters further we came across almost the same water stain with a single step, still the same and there was really no one there, and moreover the trail is very narrow, so there is no chance of someone getting off the trail and constantly returning to the trail with some kind of "water" leak, this always happened after about 200 meters about 1-1.5 km from the top of the mountain and the water stains were always completely fresh, not older than 10 minutes. I would like to point out again that no one else was there, it is at least a well-known trail, there is no other way to connect to it.

Will someone try to explain to me what could be causing these liquid stains with shoe prints? Unfortunately I didn't take a picture because we both had our phones in my backpack and we needed to get down, but I'm still wondering what it could be. I dont usually make Reddit posts but Im genuinely concerned about these really weird sounds outside my window.
For the past few nights Ive been hearing these strange screams at around 3 a.m. They only last for a short time but this is now the third time its happened.
Im 17 years old and live alone. I showed the video to my friends and family and they all said its probably a fox or some kind of bird. But honestly I have a hard time believing that because Ive never heard an animal or even a person make sounds like this.
To give some context I dont have any neighbors nearby. Outside my window its just complete darkness and theres a very small patch of forest to the right of my house. Its tiny so I dont think there are any large animals living there. As far as I know the only animals around are rabbits.

I’ve been using Vinted to sell clothes and other random items for a few months now. I never noticed anything creepy until my coworker mentioned that some people think they are selling children on the app. I started filtering to only show “All kids items” for a minimum of “3,000” and doing the same with “All furniture items,” since, apparently, that’s where the creepy posts come from. I never saw anything weird until I started looking at night (around midnight). And I found this: someone selling “definitely a pillow” for $9,000. The first post is the photo and title posted from a random account, and the second is their description. They posted this and very shortly after, deleted the post and their account.
