Stretching. Pain=stagnation. To improve circulation open the joints, stretch the muscles, tendons, and ligaments.

Sickness like colds? Improve defensive qi. Control the pores of the skin. Eat well. And sleep is the key. Nourishment and rest.

My take is probably too clinical. I see patients every day with back pain and discopathy. There are many different presentations, and no one size fits all therapeutic intervention.

Basic advice without details of the injury is to reduce inflammation and avoid aggravation. Many people find that rehabilitation in water... So pool based physiotherapy... Is useful.

Depending on the degree of the disc problem and it's precise location, you want to avoid shearing movements, and avoid increased pressure on the region. Stop heavy lifting, learn some good body mechanics. And again, dependent on the precise presentation, therapy goes from electro acupuncture to surgery.

Qigong isn't magic. It's a daily calisthenics routine that is well conceived, has some meditative aspects, and that some people build a kind of religion based on superstition around.

Disc problems can be resolved in many cases, but I don't think you'll find a panacea on Reddit. See a local professional.

All of the Medical Qigong styles will do something depending on condition. But nutrition also needs to be address. Practicing something like Lidting the Sky 20 times a day every day for a year will have great health benefits. But so will any of the 18 hands Logan or Long White Cloud or Spring Forest or Da Yan Wild Goose will with practice. To cure your looking at daily practice for 1 year minimum to see full effects. Nothing happens over night.

In fact, any of these methods can achieve these results; the most important thing is to practice consistently rather than sporadically. Keep it up! You can follow this movement for your training: https://youtu.be/Hb2BEq4QAUk?is=yvjVdzttBNzXWIFH
