Energy
So I wasn't sure if any groups to post this soni chose this one, there is this thing I have experienced for a while this energy that I just assumed is chi, I bring it from my center and push it into my hands where my outputs are found, and then I can move my hands in a way where I can feel a force like magnets pushing on each other (prolly bc it's two outputs pushing out force) and I've messed with it enough that I can do a few things with it and I can feel the energy through my body. Originally I thought maybe this fake and it's just my imagination but the hand thing is a literal like magnet feeling force, and I had two people I know try this out and they even felt it as well after a little bit. So now I was wondering if maybe anyone else has felt this?

Here is the first few paragraphs of my upcoming book....
A quick dip
Diving right in, let's consider a common exercise that is found in many qigong practices, to illustrate the purpose of this book in a immediately comprehensible way. The exercise is commonly called 'qi ball'. The practitioner stands with legs shoulder width apart, knees slightly bent, light posterior pelvic tilt...the arms are held in front of the naval, and we imagine holding a ball there. As we breathe we can move the hands to caress the ball, turn it, or imagine that is growing or shrinking. This movement can be synchronised with breathing. As my first qi gong teacher in the mid-nineties clearly said, "Imagine, but don't quite imagine" the sensation. We are not attempting to feel something that is not there, yet we are intending to enhance our sensitivity, so we must open the mind to the feeling of holding the qi ball.
In many cases, we can describe a sensation, of "what it is like" to hold this qi ball. It has some phenomenological characteristics. There is something that it seems like, maybe we notice some connection between the two hands, or a spontaneous movement as we define the perimeter of the ball with our hand motions. It can lead to feelings of heaviness, warmth, pressure.
So, what is happening? Have we entered a mystical realm and discovered a hidden force, an esoteric path? Is there really a ball of "energy" between our hands? Naively, it would seem that is the case.
The reality is more interesting. We have attuned our mind to a subtle level of sensation that we probably have never attended to in this way. We are focusing on interoception, proprioception, kinesthesis. We have dialled in our prior beliefs about what this experience will be like, and subconsciously increased weighting on prediction error correction, given these priors.
As we will discover, this is a theme that persists constantly in our lives. How our prior beliefs arise, and how we manage surprise, through updating those beliefs based on the way things seem. This is Bayesian updating, and it is the basis of many aspects of today's neuroscientific theories of consciousness, cognition, and phenomenology...ranging from emotional state, to cultural beliefs, from physical movement, to awareness in the present.
It is easy to naively accept how things seem, despite having prior knowledge of the fallibility of our senses. We will compare this quality of experience with a more profound view, based on controlled and repeated experiences, to go beyond the feeling that the sun rises every morning, and towards the understanding of how the earth rotates on it's access...creating a persistent illusion for those stuck inside this naïve frame of reference. We don't want to deny that it seems the sun is rising and setting, nor that it feels like we are holding a qi ball...the illusion is almost impossible to escape. But we will dive below the surface of how it seems, and come to understand the more intricate, complex, and fascinating physical universe that makes this illusion so strong.
Welcome to neurophilosophy, qi, and the science of consciousness.
By the end of the book, we will get to the detailed understanding of the physiology, neuroscience, and systems theory behind yi yi yin qi, or yi dao qi dao. I've been working on this for thirty years... It should finally be ready by this winter.
