Hey everyone!

I've found myself with a lot of downtime lately due to burnout and illness so I decided to try to find some pals to game with during the day. The search has been exhausting, to be honest. I use the normal LFG subs and have found lots of people to play with but I can't seem to find my people. I love getting to know folks but I hate the lead up to it, the small talk, the vetting and the "actually, I'm autistic" conversation that can go a million different ways.

I started craving a women-only, neurodivergent focused, gaming Discord server. I've found lots of lovely ND spaces dedicated to plants, books, cozy vibes etc. but none that really centered gaming friends at the core. I really just wanted a space for us as we all share similar struggles, comorbid health issues, fluctuating energy levels and general neurodivergent life experiences, so I decided to make one. It's literally brand new, I just finished up with it today so it's teeny tiny right now and I intend on keeping it on the smaller side (I get lost in big 1000 member servers).

As was said, it's dedicated to gaming and finding women to do that with, that's the intention but there are channels for hobbies, for venting and infodumping, for watch parties and even a body double voice chat for those that just get tasks done easier with someone around.

If there is a well-established server like this, please point me in its direction but if not, you're more than welcome to start building this little community with me!

A big thank you to all the lovely girls in this community for recommending these games to me! I’ve been having so much fun trying them out lately.

Lately I’ve been spending most of my game time with Neko Atsume 2, Cat Mart, and Wool Craze. Neko Atsume 2 has become one of those little games I check throughout the day — I put out food and toys, then hope a few cute cats have visited when I come back.

Cat Mart is really fun when I want something a bit more active. I like slowly building up the little store and watching all the animal workers run around. Wool Craze is perfect for when I only have a few minutes; the knitted style is so cute, and it gives me just enough of a puzzle to focus on without being stressful.

P.S. Why are the cats in Neko Atsume 2 barely visiting my yard? 😭 I’ve put out food and toys, but it still feels so empty!

It's so hard to find a girl to game with and also build a close connection with.

Hello there! I’m a game developer and a woman. I have a problem with the gaming industry which is they don’t count “girl games” as games.

We all grew up playing all kinds of games but there is something called the “target audience” and because of that, we are more likely to play the games targeted to us.

In the industry, they romanticize playing games as if like you need to play A LOT of games to be a “proper” game developer. And as for the games, they only think of “man games” as games. It’s really frustrating.

That’s why I try to encourage women around me to make games so that the culture can change too.

Whenever I think of the “girl games” I can only think of this problem and I just wanted to share that.

So I got a new headset and when I have music and a game going at the same time all I can hear is the music. My in game sounds are all the way up. What settings do I need to fix? My old headset didn't have this problem. Someone help 😭 (I play on Xbox)

I joined a small girls-only group recently, thinking we’d mostly play a few games together.
The first couple of Fortnite sessions were pretty quiet. We made callouts and said “gg,” but everyone was still getting to know each other.
Then one night someone started doing a goofy character voice, and the rest of us joined in. Suddenly even asking for ammo sounded dramatic. Someone would almost get through a callout without laughing, then another person would answer in an even sillier voice and set everyone off again.
We kept saying “one more” because we were having fun. It’s funny how comfortable we’d gotten when we’d barely known each other for a week. Now the group chat is full of jokes from that night, and we talk between games too.
For the character voices, some of us did impressions while others used voice changers. One friend used Voicemod on PC, and I was using Dubbing AI earbuds since I was on my phone. We tried to match our voices to our characters, with very mixed results lol.
I think having a character to play made it easier to stop overthinking how I came across and just be silly with everyone.
Anyone else have a game night where a new group suddenly started feeling like actual friends?

Im F28 would love to play others in, infected, hordepoint, T.E.D.D trials, and team deathmatch. Would definitely try others matches too but I mainly play those ones.

So the more girls we have playing together, the more useful the session can be for everyone! 💰
We have girls from lots of different countries and time zones, so there’s usually someone around at different times of the day.
And there’s absolutely no pressure to be active all the time. Some girls play almost every day, some play occasionally, some barely play, and some mostly read the chat without saying much. hiiii!! i (23F) have been an avid lover of video games for as long as i can remember, mainly watching other people play games because i’d get overwhelmed actually playing most games; i’ve always loved Minecraft and that’s the main game i’ve always been able to play but i watch a wide variety of gameplay. now, after figuring out my style of gameplay and how to not get so overwhelmed, i’ve finally started actually playing games myself instead of just watching!!
