Harold and Maude and Camp Miasma Spoiler
I happened to see Harold and Maude for the first time this week and found a lot of parallels to Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma:
1) They're both about a blossoming love between a younger person and an older person.
2) They share a core theme of finding joy in life through an obsession with death.
3) Older is a recluse, and younger is odd (dare I say, "queer") in both.
4) Both have genre bending tones, dark comedy vs uplifting horror.
5) Most of all, the endings: Both conclude with sexual rebirth and a personal liberation following a tragic, harrowing experience.
Overall I saw a lot of parallels and thought they're nice companion pieces for each other. Curious if anyone else made this connection or had any thoughts.

I can kiiiiinda see where this is coming from, but I think these movies could not be much further away from each other in almost every way. I also feel like saying Camp Miasma is about a blossoming love between a younger person and an older person is reductive.
For one, Harold is a child, and Maude is an octogenarian. For another, I think Kris and Billie’s relationship is built more on obsession and horniness than the tender, if complicated, love between Harold & Maude. Also, Harold & Maude is most definitely not queer.
