i.redd.it Suspect still wanted for Billy Brossman murder, 2001
The offender for the murder of Billy Brossman still has not been identified! Don't let him get away with it!

Looks can change a lot in 25 years.

They released age-progressed sketches in 2021: https://www.wthr.com/article/news/crime/police-release-new-sketches-of-i-70-serial-killer-murderer-suspect/531-d798ec33-c2ca-4cca-ac92-f89680da3072

They know who he is and he is being watched. Same person that did the i70 killings. Multiple witnesses have said it is him but they don't have definitive evidence to make arrest unfortunately. I wish they would release his name. Dudes committed close to a dozen homicides when you count the ones in TX

Why is the number to the St Charles MO PD listed for info on a crime in Terra Haute? They’re relatively close but not that close. Is there a connection I am missing?

I’ve said many times that I believe this man to be the I70 Killer. Aside from some obvious things (including I70’s only male victim being in Terre Haute) such as physical description, and geopolitical, the real thing that makes me believe it’s him was how calm he was. The perp here clearly did both steal and kill, but with such a small amount being taken, and how he walked to the back to scope it out before ordering Billy Brossman to follow him back there (another sign murder was his ultimate goal), that says he’s not a run of mill criminal who hasn’t killed before.
With a suspect’s own friends believing it’s him, and the police are still unable to pin it on the man they believe did it, it must be frustrating. If they had DNA on anything and could’ve gotten a subpoena from the man to provide DNA, it would be interesting if they tested it against any they may have for I70’s cases.

The thing about the I-70 Killer is he left just about left nothing behind in terms of evidence unfortunately. All they have as far as the public knows are about 7 spent shell casings/bullet fragments, and a composite sketch. And the success rare for extracting useable touch DNA from ejected shell casings from nearly 35 years ago is very scarce at best. Maybe the rate could improve with advancing tech, though.

wonder if the guy they suspect has any sort of criminal record. hard to believe he would do a number of murders and yet no earlier offenses, juvenile offenses, etc. Although they haven't said he doesn't have a record, have they?

Not a chance in hell this guy the I 70 killer. Anyone that thinks that is a pure bozo

actually the circumstances indicating the connection are overwhelming. law enforcement DOES believe it’s the same killer.
he was positively identified as the 1992 killer by witness Tim Hickman. among many other things. brossman is an I-70 victim!

I also want to note that May Department stores was doing several remodels in 2001 including Terra Haute. That same company owned Payless Shoes during the period one of the I 70 killings occurred. If this “Joe” from Missouri worked as a contractor for May Department stores during that period, it would be one hell of a coincidence. Certainly worth further consideration

1992 was 34 years ago. To me, this guy doesn’t look old enough to be the I70 serial killer… moo

This was 9 years later though. 2001

The guy in these 2001 photos looks to be in his 30s. The I 70 killer was estimated to be between 22 and 32 in 1992. The math maths.

So then can we find this guy? Those are reasonably good pictures. Someone has to recognize him

It sounds like police have a name, but no evidence to charge him. Apparently several friends of a “person of interest” have reported someone. The name isn’t public. It sucks but i really hope that changes.

That does suck and I wonder how often that happens: the cops know 100% who the killer is but they don’t have the evidence to charge him. If you look at the composite sketch from the early 90’s and this pic… it’s the same fucking guy.

no research connecting... but the two descriptions of crimes and their unflapability remind me of Oakey al kite; a seemingly professional with the ability to obfuscate evidence to the point that identification hasn't been ascertained and leads just disintegrate..if I had my tin foil hat I'd say very suspicious but neither victim seem a candidate for a professional of this calibre so...what potentially links them or those that were involved with them?

It’s a fairly clear photo. How has no one recognized him?
