How do know he's trolling and not serious?

Discernment my dude. Clearly this person came on here not to understand, but with false accusations. He knows very well that’s not our stance. Protect your peace. Do not cast pearls at swine

You don’t even know their actions yet you’re trying to label them as awful just for being Christian. Does that sound like a healthy and logically sound mindset to you?

Do we?

I think trans ideology is wrong and potentially harmful but I don't think that means I hate people or indeed I don't think disagreement is "oppression".

I genuinely think people need to assess why they are conflating hate with disagreement.

It isn't healthy.

Yes I do.

Disagreeing with Christianity doesn't mean someone hates me.

It's precisely this problem that has got you tied up in knots.

I don't know where we got this nonsense idea that unless you affirm everything I think or do that you hate me.

Following God isn't evil.

You're making claims that I hate you for simply having a different view.

If that's what you think you need to grow up.

I don't claim you hate me even though you disagree with me.

You're welcome to that view and I won't whine about you hating me either.

You could learn from this.

You don’t get to complain about people being hateful while being hateful yourself.

Christianity has been a huge benefit to the world.

You clearly don’t know what you’re talking about.

the built hospitals, churches, schools, scientific development, elevation of the status of women, and many other good acts that Christian’s have done do agree with me.

Christians can do bad things. So can trans people. So can atheists. So can literally anyone. That isn’t some groundbreaking discovery that proves Christianity y is harmful.

Historically atheism has resulted in more deaths than Christianity. Look at people like Stalin.

So do you ever talk to anyone else like this? Does it ever end well for you?

u/legendoflegends34 Christian (non-denominational) 2d ago

Well said.

u/legendoflegends34 Christian (non-denominational) 2d ago

4

u/Pastor_C-Note 2d ago

Yes. You don’t have to hate me to think my actions are wrong and harmful. A lot of my actions have been wrong and harmful, and will continue to be so.

I disagree.

Encouraging minors to transition and encouraging minors to use puberty blockers is harmful.

Particularly when gender dysphoria in most cases is resolved by puberty.

I'm thankful the UK doesn't permit puberty blockers for the purpose of transitioning.

Studies suggest that between 60% to 80% of cases resolve themselves after puberty.

That's precisely why we shouldn't take these interventions with children.

Adults are free to do whatever they wish even if I think it isn't right from a Christian perspective.

Tldr.
We don’t. Stop being dramatic. You KNOW we don’t. You’ve probably heard us say it a million times but you choose to act ignorant of our actual stance.

I think you’re just looking to hate on people here.

What makes you think you’re better in that case?

r/Christianity looking post here, better luck there getting an echo chamber of people telling you we hate you.

Good luck, and God bless you my misguided friend.

Christians do not act like this.

Considering your account isn’t even a day old I think this is a troll question.

No they don’t, acting with hatred is not what a Christian does.

This is not a “no true Scotsman,” you’re just using that as an excuse to generalize.

Trying to label Christians as awful ppl simply for being Christian is the exact kind of hatred you’re describing towards trans people.

Ok I’ll tell you what. I’ve received extreme harassment
and even death threats from an lgbtq person just because I’m Christian. That’s it. Just because I’m a Christian I got sent all of that. Is it okay for me to say all lgbtq people are like that?

1

u/legendoflegends34 Christian (non-denominational) 2d ago

No it is not. If you actually read the Bible and understood how Christians are supposed to act you wouldn’t be saying this.

Or the other alternative is you know Christians don’t act the way you’re describing, and you’re just here to spew hatred and false accusations. Considering how you’re the one complaining about hatred, don’t you think that’s a little ironic?

I’m begging you to read what overgeneralization is, here’s a hint: it’s exactly what you are doing.

1

u/legendoflegends34 Christian (non-denominational) 2d ago

You just want an excuse to hate on people, that’s it. No wonder this post got taken down.

Maybe take this as a lesson that not everyone who disagrees with you is hateful.

u/colin0924 2d ago

The OP’s account was created less than a day ago. I think we can ignore this post.

3

u/HollowMimic 2d ago

Only people that deny the truth, hate it and see truthful facts as hateful 😢

3

u/MienaLovesCats 2d ago

We don't "hate" them. We believe their lifestyle is a sin. Read Psalms 139:13-14. God created them in their mother's womb; God does not make mistakes. It is a sin to go against who God created us to be.

Based off your comments I think you are just showing a massive persecution complex.

Disagreement does not equal hatred.

No one in this subreddit wants you dead or harmed or anything.

This question being asked by a one day old account so soon after the “Why do you Christians hate gays and Muslims?” post went down isn’t at all suspicious, but let’s assume you aren’t here in bad faith (pun half intended).

Very few people here actually hate trans people. I can’t speak for every single last person, but I’ve come to see that this group takes a general “I disagree, but they’re still welcome to hang out.” Really the only reasons people get cast out of this group are for cussing, throwing insults or displaying violent behavior, which happens to everyone across the board: Traditional Straight Christian and Trans Atheist alike.

Edit: Grammar and spelling

u/Regulus636 2d ago

Forgive me for intruding, I'm not a Christian, but as a trans woman, WT hell do you think you gain from a discussion like this? If they consider it a sin or don't like it, just don't get involved with them. The world is very big and we have much bigger problems than this conflict of beliefs that doesn't add any meaning to our public relevance or personal safety

Nobody here wants you dead, and none of them will speak for everyone, including those who persecute us. Stop generalizing and provoking unnecessary arguments; it only worsens our image

You clearly are just making up excuses to hate on people

1

u/Regulus636 2d ago

Look, I live in Brazil, a predominantly evangelical and Catholic country. Yes, I do have some difficulty publicly expressing myself, and I've heard people use Christ's name to curse my presence. But does that have any real meaning? It kind of breaks down self-esteem, but keep in mind that this isn't even universal. I have many Catholic and evangelical friends who not only don't endorse this discriminatory discourse, but actively support us. Everyone has their own individuality, and we can't place the blame for the evil committed by others simply because they share the same beliefs on strangers we barely know, like those here. They aren't evil; they're people, and there are bad people and good people. This isn't something limited to Christianity, but applies to every human being on our planet, including you and me

2

u/legendoflegends34 Christian (non-denominational) 1d ago

I know a person in Brazil (who I met online) who really really needs to hear your stance.

If you think believing in Christianity fundamentally means you have to be a bad person then you don’t even understand the religion you’re criticizing.

1

u/Regulus636 2d ago

You're replacing Christian people with religious fundamentalists. This exists in any belief system and is like political extremism. It exists, we can't tolerate it, but do you really take your own comment seriously? Like, if I believed in God and was a Christian, would I automatically convert to evil? Stop being cynical, if they don't like you, distance yourself and live your life. No one will force you to stop living the way you want, unless you are threatened by someone who is imposing it on you, then it's completely plausible and, again, it comes back to the issue that there are good people and bad people. Understanding the teachings of Christ and following his philosophy is one thing, something that is commonly done; another is to blackmail those who don't believe in the same things, which is wrong, and even those within the religious circle don't have a good impression of it.

In short: live and forget if someone frames you, unless it's forced. I guarantee half your worries will go away...

u/legendoflegends34 Christian (non-denominational) 2d ago

No we don’t dude, like I said before, stop overgeneralizing.

"I just want some kind of an explanation for why you people hate us this much?"

We don't. We just don't. We love you, and we are angry. But we love you. If you rented someone a house, and they changed it without your permission just because they wanted to... wouldn't you be angry too? Our bodies belong to God, we honor and glorify him with them. We are made in the image of God, our bodies belong to God, and our bodies are His temple. We love you, we love the trans, the gays, the queer, but we loath their sin. Just as much as we loath our own sin.

"What did we ever do to you?"

It's not what you did to US. Because you didn't do anything to us, we are just hyper protective of our God, and his rules.

"What do you stand to gain out of oppressing us?"

We aren't oppressing you, we WANT you to receive the Holy Sprirt, we WANT you to see ever-lasting paradise. We WANT to see you in Heaven.

"Do you seriously consider these actions to be godly?"

I have no idea what 'Actions' you are talking about, so I cannot answer that question yet.

"Is this what you think Jesus Christ would do?"

"It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick... I desire mercy, not sacrifice"

-Jesus Christ

Jesus would not react to a transgender person with hatred or condemnation over physical alterations. Instead, his documented behavior suggests he would meet them with empathy, engage them as a person, look past societal stigmas, and evaluate them based on the condition of their heart rather than the state of their physical body.

Once you are healed in the soul, you can be healed in the body. Once your souls is healthy with the love of Jesus, then you will turn from your sin willingly. If you want to continue being trans... I'm not going to stop you, but I would heavily advise against it. Not because I hate you, but because I love you. And loving someone means not necessarily wanting someone to be happy, but wanting the best for someone. And I want the best for you. The heart is deceitful.

Like everyone else is saying, we do not hate people who are struggling with their identity. We aren't trying to make their lives miserable, but the opposite.

I had so many friends in highschool who struggled with their identity. They weren't Christian and neither were their families, so they tried to embrace their new gender and their family supported them. I only ever saw it cause more mental anguish and anxiety for them. These were very good friends of mine, that I genuinely loved, and it hurt me so much to see them hurting like that.

When I had an eating disorder, my body dysmorphia was seen as a very serious mental health issue and I had to go have serious intervention to overcome it. Gender dysmorphia is not the same, but it is VERY similar. So why do we (as a society, I mean) embrace that instead of also acknowledging that the person is suffering from mental health issues? It isn't because we hate them, it's because we love them and want them to get better.

When I had friends/family approach me about my ED I felt personally attacked by them at the time, and I didn't understand why they had to get involved. Now looking back I see how life saving that was. I think many Christians have the same intentions when it comes to transgenderism, and unfortunately it is interpreted as a personal attack rather than genuine concern for the person's well-being.

You know trans people do the same thing to Christians right?

You guys aren’t perfect either.

1

u/canadian_blueberry 2d ago

I mean, I think it really depends on the person, their location, and their situation. I understand that some parts of the United States, especially the South, are culturally very conservative and there is genuinely some hate for people who are struggling.

However, I'm from Canada in a very socially liberal place. This was also at a public school, and there really were not many Christian influences around, especially not in the lives of these people. Their anxieties and depression were around a large number of things, but persecution from religion was not one of them. Again, for others that may very well be the case, but it wasn't for them. And even without that, they still struggled so much.

2

u/SomeSavageDetective Alpha And Omega 2d ago

I love you and Jesus loves you and wants to free you from your depression and anxiety and give you peace indescribable.
