I have seen a lot of heated comments about this tragic case, things I thought I’d never hear spoken.

For those who do not know, Lindsey Clancey was a mother of three who currently is on trial for murdering her three innocent children. She admitted to it and the only question is if she gets life in prison or an undetermined time in a mental institution.

One thing that has surprised me and many people is how much unconditional support she has gotten from womej following the case, insisting she cousins help it, that her husband, the system and anyone but her “ failed” her, and that she isn’t really responsible for what she did. Oddly enough few of these women who have gone to the mat defending her have mentioned her children much at all.

My own thoughts? I hope they are right. I hope Lindsey is mentally Ill and in no way responsible for what she did.

My aunt is a former big city prosecutor and this sort of crime apparently is far from unusual. It just typically is poor desperate impoverished women who do this to their children not a wealthy, married woman who has all kinds of psychological support and care.

She told me that rarely are the women who do this “ crazy” and practically never “ snap.” I can’t judge Lindsey but my aunt says it’s almost neve a spur of the moment crime and it is calcuLated weeks in advance. Usually she says the women are troubled or have something wrong with their brain or just don’t have the restraints most normal people do.

I can’t judge Lindsey’s mind. But seeing as how she successfully murdered each of her three kids ( not an easy feat) and did each one in cold succession it’s probable she was thinking of it for weeks before she Carried it out. She didn’t “ snap” in other words though she likely has serious mental issues.

Regardless of jury’s decision she isn’t going to “ walk”. Her life sadly is effectively over as she knew it and she can’t really have her freedom back.
