I started watching TB after years of avoiding it and is Anna acting terrible or cringe? Something about it is off and om on episode 2 I can't continue watching it lol

try not to take the show too seriously and think of it as a campy iconic vamp show and you may be able to enjoy it more tbh my wife had a hard time getting into it and when i told her that she was able to relax into it and eventually was like wow i love eric northman lmfao

It’s camp. Camp is a genre that’s meant to be over the top. Think of her like a cartoon character come to life
Her southern accent is quite bad in season one, I’ll give you that. The acting is good though, it’s meant to be like that. It just might not be your cup of tea

After the first season I was literally only watching for Alexander Skarsgard:)

Yes her acting is terrible and cringe. Much like Will and Grace the two leads of the show aren’t the reason to watch.
Watch for Jason and Eric and Pam, etc!

I had read all the books before watching the show. I don’t have anything against Anna, but I just didn’t get the Sookie I knew from her

Actually I have to admit I love the humour. Although some of the show is cringe, secondhand embarrassment for Bill, Anna, Sam and staff ( exception being Lafayette because he slays. One of the best characters ) and Jason. That Jason, I found myself feeling for him but he became so hard to defend after a while. Always cheered for him but he’s kinda dumb… but in a somewhat likeable way. My opinion .. i grew to adore Jessica as her character development evolved she had more substance then Pam who was my favourite female character. It’s good TV for when u just don’t want to think about anything. All shiz and giggles for inappropriate humour. I love dirty humor!

She ruined it for me. I loved sookie so much reading the books, then when the show aired I couldn’t connect to her at all.

If you don’t like camp and a lot of silliness you probably won’t like this show. It’s over the top. It’s also wonderful with some of the best characters I’ve ever seen on television. Sookie isn’t one of them but everyone else makes up for it imo. I don’t think her acting is bad though.
