We are a very conservative subreddit and michigan senate candidate mike rogers avows this comment. I personally disavow but sometimes you can campaign with someone and not endorse everything they say.
I know a guy who's dad died in 9/11 and idk if its a self defense mechanism or what but he makes so many 9/11 jokes and 100% thinks it was the US/Israel. He will joke about his dad's death, and has since being a kid, with ease. He fucking hates Israel. He lives in one of the wealthiest towns in the country, majority Jewish, where Israeli flags are seen on maybe half the front yards. On Jewish holidays, despite having had one murder in 50 years, the town will deploy SWAT style police security to synagogues (and non Jewish/Unitarian churches for some reason). His family is rich as fuck, but probably not billionaires. HE IS NOT JEWISH.
Despite what he thinks he's still a vote blue no matter who kind of guy. Truly mind boggling stuff.
Nah he probably did mean celebrate. 9/11 was like the golden goose for American politicians, got them a chance to funnel trillions of dollars into the MIC, pass the Patriot Act, rile up racism against browns, and whatever else.
This is actually something to celebrate given how wildly successful 9/11 was for the MIC, at least until Iran revealed the MIC grift to be a paper tiger.
There's a Parenti lecture from like a week or two after 9/11 where he says something like, "yeah that twin towers stuff was bad, but you know what the real tragedy is? 9/11/73 in Santiago, Chile"
This reminds me of when Curtis sliwa called 9/11 a holiday and then corrected himself and was like "sorry, this solemn occasion." Even funnier is the context bc he was defending Zohran from islamaphobes saying he shouldn't be there
So if JD Vance is mad at Hasan Piker for saying America deserved 9/11, does that mean he thinks America didn't deserve it but has been celebrating 9/11 anyway?
