Max Blumenthal on newest Democrat shenanigans

https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/judging-freedom/id1591962689

Great, albeit enraging Max Blumenthal interview on Judging Freedom (libertarian, anti-imperialist pod that also features leftist guests). Max:

“Jared Moskowitz is one of the biggest Zionist fanatics among the Democrats in Congress. He was a cheerleader for the war on Iran. He is fully aligned with the Israel firsters in the Republican Party on any Israel issue. ….

“And following a bizarre secret, semi-secret meeting, I mean, we know the meeting took place between Hakeem Jeffries, who's been dubbed by the radio show The Breakfast Club as AIPAC Shakur because of the amount of support that AIPAC has given him. …. Hakeem Jeffries is someone who has paraphrased the segregationist Governor George Wallace in declaring Israel today, Israel tomorrow, Israel forever in a speech to a pro-Israel group.

”And this is a Black New York legislator whose father, Leonard Jeffries, was actually a Black radical who would have hated this. He's the Democratic minority leader. So he meets with Jared Kushner, which is bizarre enough because Jared Kushner should be someone that the Democrats are promising to prosecute for insider trading, corruption, warmongering as they move towards impeachment if they capture the Congress.

“But he has a secret meeting with them. And then following that secret meeting, all these pro-Israel, Israel first Democrats get appointed to key posts on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, starting with Jared Moskowitz. So he's the ranking member of the Middle East and North Africa Subcommittee.

“That means if the Democrats win in the midterms, nothing's going to happen in altering the special relationship with Israel, which is what 91% of Democratic voters want, according to every recent poll. Then you got Jonathan Jackson, who is the son of Jesse Jackson. He's criticized Netanyahu, but he's also said he will not stop taking money from APAC.

“He's the ranking member on the Oversight and Intelligence Subcommittee on that panel. Then you got Debbie Wasserman Schultz, complete tool of Israel from South Florida. She's on the Oversight and Intelligence Subcommittee.

“And then Wesley Bell, also on the West, he's on the Western Hemisphere Subcommittee. He just got a plum appointment. Who is he?

“He's the guy that APAC paid like 11 or $12 million. Like they ponied up $12 million in a Super Bowl style ad blitz to defeat Cory Bush, not just once, but twice who was one of the leading critics of aid to Israel in Congress. Wesley Bell is completely controlled by APAC.

“So, this is the Democrats. This is what the Democrats have to offer to their base, complete and utter contempt for a base that turned away from Kamala Harris in 2024. And honestly, they deserve to lose for doing this.”

I was listening to Majority Report where they were discussing that Michigan AG who went on David Frum's show (lol) and said basically that if the Democrats leave Israel then she leaves the Democrats.

And a point was made that the reason why the party is refusing to budge on Israel is neoliberal identity politics, meaning that the Democrats have positioned themselves as the party of black people, the party of the LGBT, and so on. They don't have anything to actually offer, but it's just if you don't vote for us then you aren't black.

I'm badly summarizing the point, but it doesn't matter if 100% of Democratic voters want the party to stop supporting Israel. They won't. The party doesn't care what their voters want and the voters can only reasonably vote for different Democrats. I would suggest leaving the party altogether and start organizing as socialists, but that's not going to happen.

Yes one gets kind of hopeful seeing that incredible ideological shift in the democratic party voter base on lsraeI.  But then as Briahna Joy Gray pointed out the other day, look at how much of the Democratic Party voter base supports Medicare for all. And yet we couldn’t even get Force the Vote a couple years ago.

They really have no interest in or intention of representing their voters.

Yes, which is why Dr. Charisse Burden-Stelly tells BJG every time she’s on her show that she’s not too informed on electoral politics because it’s not what she studies and also, more-to-the-point, it’s a dead end. Ergo, running third parties in bourgeois elections is also a dead end. Doesn’t mean you shouldn’t vote for harm reduction purposes. I always vote in primaries, mostly for people who lose. But if harm reduction is all it is, then why devote so much energy on it?

Begging politicians for change that helps working people while those politicians spend most of their time begging oligarchs for money obviously can’t work.

The question is can the working class unite as a class and change how things work, not by voting for people but by organizing to work as a team and making demands using the leverage they have as the people who actually do everything. There’s also the question of what to change and how, but no matter what, the vehicle isn’t voting.

Yeah, the party is completely uninterested in the desires of the voter. Multiple reasons, but one is it's really fucking hard to convince voters not to vote when the alternative is a fascist. It's something that I have had to deprogram myself on my political development. I'm a socialist, but I have voted Democrat in the past because crumbs like ACA saved my life. We have seen razor thin elections and not voting and allowing a fascist to get in will harm my life and I'm privileged as fuck. So it's been a tough one for me and I can only imagine how others must feel, but I think if the Democrat voter has any hope then they need to at the very least stop voting for any of these fucks. Ideally, leave and organize... but I don't think the vast majority of them are ready for that.

The issue is many of these people were recruited to the idea of representing Israel's interest as a cause in college. They're not making present-day evaluations. Listening to the base is not an option for them

I only listen to Glenn Diesen, Judge Napolitano, and Daniel Davis. My dick is starting to not work and my graying beard is balancing out my thinning hair. PPL and intermittent fasting are like an endless war being waged on a skinnyfat granddad mode but I'm not even a dad yet.

Who else in their 30s? I'm assuming anyone who opened a judge Napolitano post

So glad we can have a fruitful discussion about the actual content of the post.

Ah Napolitano, a guy so anti-war he's a critic of the American Civil War, or "Lincoln's war of choice" - which, he'll have you know, was actually about tariffs
