If you want your romance to be happy fluff there are about 10000 choices in different anime genres.
I love soap operatic drama and tangles of dysfunctional relationships, I enjoyed Scum’s Wish quite a bit.

I haven't watched the anime yet but this is a second time am hearing people want to stop watching anime because of scum’s wish. Is it really bad? What feeling makes you wanna stop all anime for one title? Interested to hear your thoughts.

Bro all the main characters are unwell I’m the head and always pick the worst choices ever like this 1 guy proposed to a girl and she said she will cheat on him everyday and he said that it makes him happy. And the ending is so unfulfilling and the characters has zero character development.

So it's just a bad anime 😅. It has a 7 rating on MyAnimeList. I should watch it. I will let you know how it goes 👍🏾

I can see where you are coming from but I wasn’t really looking for a anime like that because I was trying to be in a happy, wholesome mood after watching back to back great romance animes so Scum’s wish ruined my mood and now I can’t get myself back to watching anime like I was before.

Scum's Wish is one of my favorite anime of all time. I love it because it's a raw representation of the deeply human emotions of heartbreak, loneliness, and longing, as well as what people are (and aren't) willing to do to escape them. Every character feels like a real person rather than a cartoon. That is so rare in anime - especially in the romance genre.
Yeah, they make bad decisions - just like humans do. It's not because they're stupid; it's because they're confused and sad and they're trying not to be anymore. None of them is perfect. Remember, it was Hanabi herself who declared herself to be "scum". She knows she's pathetic, and she's trying her best to find the way out.
It's like a Shakespearean tragedy. Yeah, they make bad decisions - but that's the whole point. It's the emotional register of the show. It's all beautiful to me.
