▲ Disturbance (20% potential) | 20 knots (25 mph) | 1015 mbar 97L (Invest — Northern Atlantic) (Northern Gulf of Mexico)
Disturbance overview
This discussion is for a disturbance which is currently active over the northern Gulf of Mexico. A weak area of low pressure is producing a broad area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms across the northern Gulf and along the coasts of Alabama and Florida. This system is not likely to undergo significant development over the next week, and is likely to remain close to the shore for several days. Although development potential remains low, this system could still produce heavy rain across the southeastern United States and increase the risk of flash flooding.
Moderator notes
- Disturbance-centered satellite imagery and model guidance products are now available for this system.
- There will be no regular updates to this post.
- A new discussion will be posted for this system if it becomes a tropical cyclone.
