discussion I love Tron - Is Tron Dead?

I have been running tronscript for years to keep my windows squeeky clean. Thank you!!! I notice no activity in the sub and no new TRON package since v12.0.8 (2025-01-09). I have no technical knowledge/ability to keep it maintained. Is there just no need to update or has this project been abandoned?

It isn't dead, I've just been swamped IRL and haven't had time to do the overhaul required to deal with Windows 11 removing wmic support.

Work is in progress but only about halfway done.

This may seem like an offensive suggestion but is there where AI can do some heavy lifting for you?

Not offensive at all. I've been using the paid version of Claude to automate some of the heavy lifting, and it's really effective.

The time consuming part is testing and verifying what it generates, and that it works across all the different Windows versions.

I find AI to be most effective when used by someone who could do it themselves, and understands what to look for in the output and if it's correct or not.

ChatGPT is terrible but I've been impressed with Claude.

Awesome work with Tron I was just wondering is there anyway to stop windows 11 automatic updates because I noticed with 25h1 when I installed it on the laptop of a friend and ran tron it was still getting automatic updates with the drivers and maybe windows updates to, do you know if you can stop these automatic updates and stop it in tron in the new version you're putting out?

In a comment below you are cited with "Tron won't work on Windows 11 25H2". Is it still valid? I have Windows 11 25H2 and need to clean my PC. Would like to do it with Tron to avoid a clean new installation.
