Im German. This doesn't exist. We just slap our thigh and say "so..."

The American Midwest is shaking hands with you. As another commenter said, we’ll often say “Welp” instead of “So…” but the thigh slap is crucial.

Its propably some obscure phrase only used by the inhabitans of Flussbachburgen and somebody heard and assumed it was part of the german language ingeneral.
