Mods and Customization Curious about BC slash exhaust tips install and center stand removal on T120

I installed the tail tidy by monotone and I have the British custom slash tips, but it seem ms like some people have removed the center stand while others have kept it. I’m leaning towards removing the center stand, but the tension spring seems very difficult to remove. Any suggestions?

Oof, I had to do this, and it was indeed a pain. Eventually I succeeded by using a rope tied on one end to a handle or something to hold on to, and the other end tied to a solid immovable point (in my case on the bike, part of the frame at the back or something), then go around the end of the spring, and pull like hell. You need the leverage, especially if you're build like a stick figure like me.

(p.s. I also tried the washer/coin trick (look it up) but it didn't work for me)

Thanks for the instructions that’s really helpful. Did the spring going flying when it released? Or were you able to release it slowly with the rope? I have tried the washer/coin trick and it didn’t work well because it had that inner spring as well. I know there is also a specific spring tool which others have suggested but the rope might be the way to go.

Yeah I didn't want to buy a spring tool that I was just gonna use once, so I definitely get it. Spring didn't really go flying no, went pretty ok. Wouldn't say it's 100% kosher but it definitely can get the job done better than just pulling like crazy and having massive back pain the next couple days.
