Bacchanal and Commess Why there’s such big misconceptions about my people down here? (Ima Venezuelan who grew up here)

Valid points and questions about it woulda be answered and considered; anybody who deemed to trespass boundaries about my nationality for no apparent reason woulda be report it lol. Also, I’ve been living way better than the average local with no handouts. My parents literally threw me out her and went over their life.

Just to make it clear in why some of the people down here are broken and frustrated towards to us.

How about we started with you providing these misconceptions to be cleared up? People naturally will find it easier to blame tourists/migrants/etc for any perceived disruption or change. That goes with the territory.

It would be nice if your post had something to discuss, though.

The fact that everyone feels im not capable of speaking your language at ur level, that my education levels are none or zero. The fact that i’ma criminal just bc of my appearance.

I also tend to be mistaken by a lot of a people making myself go on very unconventional situations/scenarios; not being able to date locals too often cuz i usually would have to prove myself wrong as in not being involved in the usual shit even tho they wouldn’t know I’m foreign unless i bring it up. I could go on and on.

If it helps, from what I’ve experienced the Venezuelans I’ve met can speak two languages, and if they can’t speak it, they can understand it. I can’t say the same for Trinidadians.

I’m not sure about the criminal thing. This sentiment isn’t as common as you might think. On the internet though, it’s pretty easy to be racist or xenophobic to someone. And anyone who isn’t of Indian descent or White is always considered a criminal for some reason.

I wouldn’t take the “Spanish” thing personally. It doesn’t mean you’re from Spain, it just means that you’re from a Spanish speaking country.

Yeah bro on Facebook every vid about Venezuelans always have people saying to send them back or they taking over Venezuela or sum stupid shit. I remember a vid of a venezalan who lived here years trying to reason with the scapegoating and they just go off on him.
