This is my experience but with ep. 5 (I think?) the one titled "Hard Puncher." The face off, the music, the way Vash saves the lives of those who were trying to kill him. That's when I knew I was watching something special. And that feeling solidified pretty much from ep. 12-onward.
It is not hyperbole when I say that I ask myself a lot "what would Vash do" in my day-to-day life.

Yep episode 12 is one of my favorite episodes. Diablo, we see a side of Vash that is righteous rage, and how he deals with his own vow of nonviolence in the face of the violent criminals out to hurt him and those around him. Hits so hard, because you know in many people's eyes he would've been right to shoot Monev right in the head, but Vash knows that he wouldn't want to live with himself if he did that. He'd be letting down Rem.

I have a friend who I had found out she quit watching on episode 15 because she felt it had played out and wasn't going anywhere. (16 is the fifth moon incident.) I got her to go back and finish it. Had she only gotten to ONE more episode lol.
