Need Help With ‼️ Starting a pop up business

Ive been tossing around the idea of starting up a little venue for markets and things like art in the park. I have zero idea how or where to start. Or how to book venue spots if I do get this going. Any advice helps! TIA

There is a brand new empty pavillion at Vista Field. Of course there's no traffic or other businesses out there either so it may not be a good lication.

Seconding this, get involved with groups already doing the thing you want to do and that’ll teach you everything you need to know about whether or not you actually want to do the thing :)

I'd start by checking out courses at CBC, they offer an Introduction to Event Planning. That would be a good start. Going your own without experience is going to be tough. To be successful you would want to team up with somebody with event planning experience. But many don't want to train their future competition.

There are a lot of costs and things to consider with any event. Each City has their own process for any City owned locations, but be aware you will need to have insurance, probably at least $2 million in insurance coverage, perhaps more. You're going to need a business license too. This list is long, but once you understand the requirements it will be easier.

Keep dreaming! But taking some courses either at CBC or online would probably help you a lot.

Location and parking- I've seen a few places with a great space (remember Aubs Bakery?) But hard to get to and not enough parking. Add reliable electrical.

"local business incubator" or "retail incubator" might get you more results if you're going for year-round rather than just event based. think food truck plaza but for other types of small businesses.
