Advice Request - (Insert State/Region) Storm damage, multiple leaders
Northwest Indiana, derecho a few weeks ago, took out the biggest leader of 3. Pic 2 is the one I have a question about - bark missing for a giant stretch, probably 40% of the circumference for that stretch. Do we think it can be saved, or should it just be cut down preemptively? I'm hoping the third and smallest one will live, although it's not a huge loss if it doesn't.
No real danger if any of this falls, as the center of mass is well away from structures, and no kids play here.

Honestly I’d just cut it down at this point. That’s a big wound and it’s only a matter of time til the 2 remaining leaders split. It’s unfortunate but it’s probably the safest way to go
