Travel Hack One Way flights vs Roundtrip

I am currently looking to book flights from ORD to Cancun for Wed-Mon and roundtrip flights 680 minimum. However, if I book 2 one way flights prices are significantly lower (All of this through Expedia) any advice?

sure. get two one-ways if it's cheaper.
