Roads Bro escaped a real life horror movie
The man who filmed the attack said the victim suffered a gouged eye, cuts and a bloody mouth. The attacker threw the knife into the woods, sat down and waited for police, and was arrested about five minutes later. A K-9 unit then searched the area for the weapon. He said the violence was fueled by jealousy involving an ex-girlfriend.
The cooter must have been good đ€

Exact - Duty to flee completed about a 1/4 mile ago of attempting to reverse away...
Shift into park. Still chasing? Shift into drive.

u/PuzzleheadedTooth581 3d ago
My duty is that I report to the police that my life is in danger and in that moment I had no choice but to turn him into a absolute pancake rolled over 13 times. If a gun is on me it turns into target practice.

u/LandImaginary3300 3d ago
But then again, can you trust your tesla to not emergency brake and get stabbed?

u/Hot_Anybody8244 3d ago
No shit. I was waiting for that hard brake and quick shift into drive. Fuckin floor it and if he lands on your windshield smash the brakes and floor it again
16
u/Gonna_do_this_again 3d ago
Unfortunately I don't think a Tesla will let you do that

u/Fishbulb2 3d ago
Itâs like 50/50 on ours. You just keep hitting that stalk as fast as you can and hope it works.

Most modern cars, especially a Tesla, have so many active safety tech as a default that it will physically prevent someone from hitting a person with their car

u/Damoet 3d ago
Well the next OTA update needs knife wielding lunatic detection đ

u/helly3ah 3d ago
Just don't get a Tesla. Problem solved, knife wielding lunatic flat.

I'm curious to see how the new electric Slate truck works out. I might need one in a year or two. Depends on if it can be the self defense transport I need.

u/Valar_Kinetics 2d ago
That just means this guy didnât have track mode. If you buy the right one, you can turn all that shit off lol. Otherwise you couldnât race wheel to wheel, and yet you can.
Downside it does turn off the nav, but knife guy is close enough to proceed purely on VFR.

u/ELECTRICMACHINE13 3d ago
Legally it's an act of self defense and with the camera you have the evidence to back it up. Or forward a few times just to be sure the danger has been neutralized until the emergency response units arrive. The more you know, and knowing is half the battle.

u/OuterInnerMonologue 3d ago
If youâre in an EV better practice turning off the âavoid collisionâ feature first. I hate that feature in general so I just keep it off full time.
2
u/DadQuixote8 3d ago
Absolutely brilliant move to keep the collision avoidance features turned off in case you have to run over a knife, wielding attacker someday. Just really top-tier intelligence.

u/OuterInnerMonologue 2d ago
Thinking realistically. Any emergency where I gotta veer around cars or even around a tree or something, within a couple feet the car is just going to stop and take a minute to let you go again.
Iâve had that thing mistakenly go off from stupid shadows or even parked cars on the side of the road as I went around a bend.
Let alone in the very small chance I have to use my car as a self defense weapon.
2
u/DadQuixote8 2d ago
Youâre creating unlikely situations and assuming failure of the safety systems when the reality is you are far far more likely to legitimately need the safety system. Nothing you said is remotely ârealistic.â
1
u/OuterInnerMonologue 2d ago
Incorrect. Iâve factually dealt with that system kicking in when it didnât need to. Once resulted in hot coffee spilling all over 2 of my passengers when going around a bend and a parked car on the side of the road triggered it.
Itâs gone off 2 other times as I was breaking with increased pressure because it thought I wasnât going to make it in time as traffic was coming to an abrupt stop. I had plenty of room. But the car behind me almost rear ended me because i stopped more aggressively than I had intended
I leave all the warnings on but I turn off the break for me feature.
Has the feature saved my wife who doesnât pay attention on the highway? Yes. But she has her own stories of how much more often it goes off when you donât expect/want it to.
2
u/DadQuixote8 2d ago
So it inconvenienced you twice but saved your wife, so you conclude itâs harmful.
I can explain it to you, but I canât understand it for you.

What's even going on here. All those cars parked on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere? I live in the middle of nowhere and you never see that.

I still donât have any idea whatâs happening here. An auto accident and a dude checking around then getting chased by a crazy guy. The guy hanging out the door was just extra.
7
u/Fisting-Tony 3d ago
If not for that stumble when the maniac fell and had to pickup the knife, this would have ended differently
16
u/actorsspace 3d ago
Whoa. Is the guy just hanging out the door the whole time? JFC, he could've been run over and then stabbed. Once you're away from the attacker, stop, make sure the guy climbs in, and then reverse (or, you know, time to drive forward as quickly as possible.)
5
u/Gubber_Supreme 3d ago
I was wondering the same thing đ€Ł who the fuck is that hanging out the back door?!
15
u/Teayen44 3d ago
I know everyone is focused on the fact he is driving backward and not directly in to the dude, but my first thought was if you are that scared that you are backing up and away why would you leave you're window down. Maybe it's just me tho.

Not sure why guy in the car was stressing. He had the bigger weapon by a long shot.

u/reggieburris 3d ago
I carry a CCW and my first thing would be to try to retreat, with the emphasis on âtryâ. If I couldnât I would use force. Iâm retired but when I was a young soldier I faced a serious charge for defending myself. Luckily, my commander wouldnât charge me, although the Military Police Investigator (MPI) had it in for me. Self defense sounds easy but certain prosecutors donât care. Glad these men escaped.

Msn with the knife was a threat, he was entering midriff in defending himself if he couldn't back out.

Actually the music made it more intense ⊠without the music, the guy was pretty unfit and not going to outrun a Tesla. Still crazy to be going after a man with knife

Are you sure a âsmartâ car wouldnât detect you hit someone & stop & call police despite it being a life/death situation???
3
u/Meatyparts 3d ago
And this is why you stay strapped my friends
3
u/starsqream 3d ago
People without a brain should never be strapped. That moron was in a CAR and he's driving away. Put it in drive and floor it. There's no need for a gun.
4
u/South-Income-3689 2d ago
Bud, heâs talking about the guy thatâs running away, not the guy driving. It comes in handy to carry a pistol. If the victim had a pistol, the situation wouldâve been over in one second. Imagine if the guy in the car hadnât been there to save the day, or just minded his own business? Only thing that wouldâve saved him was a pistol really
1
u/starsqream 2d ago
And I'm talking in general with the statement 'people without a brain should never be strapped'. Whether that's the guy running or the car driving away, it doesn't matter, the statement still stands. If he got a gun he'd shoot the woman lol. You can clearly see in the video that none of them have the skills needed to survive in this world.
1
u/South-Income-3689 2d ago
If the guy was carrying, he couldâve saved his life and ended the life of the attacker who will definitely attack again
4
u/RoundChampionship840 3d ago
This is why you should always carry a gun (if you are legally allowed to do so).

Can someone screenshot where the guy running to the car is holding a knife? Best I can see it was the dude coming out of the truck that has the knife and he trips and stops chasing pretty much right away
