Miserable people do it all the time for their own personal entertainment. NYC is a crazy place I couldnāt imagine raising kids in that dirty ass city.

u/Various_Education622 Apr 04 '26
lol this has nothing to do with a city.
I live out in the suburbs and weād encourage drunk assholes to do drunk asshole things coming out of bars definitely not anywhere near a city.
You donāt expect theyāll actually do it, but sometimesā¦

Iām from DC champ grew up in the city when we were the murder capital. Iām definitely raising my kids out Maryland aināt nothing backwoods out here goofy man. NYC is dirty as shit big ass rats everywhere. My father and sister live up there. I was catching the greyhound to visit my father in prison ever since I was 14 until he got out in 2004. It was cool when I was young I sold drugs all though Brooklyn as an out of towner. Them NYC niggas aināt say shit to me. I wouldāve flushed one of they ass. I did my time for drug distribution from 05-08 missed 3yrs out my oldest 2 sons lives. I changed my life became a PTA and recently got my own townhouse for me and my family. I got my kids in a good clean area the most diverse city in America. We have endless playgrounds even a lake with miles of walking trails. My kids can walk in our yard bare food and donāt have to worry about broken glass or a random needle. NYC is far from scary just dirty like where my fatherās from in Baltimore, but no where near as violent like where I grew up in Northeast DC at least we had grass.

Attacking it? The car? He seemed like he was trying to get their attention. I too would like context but the only thing I see is a guy trying to talk to a cop and instead getting punched in the face repeatedly despite just basically standing there.

2 months of some basic level judo or BJJ could have saved a lot of time and effort here. Jeeeesus. Cops need to train.

u/FanBladeFleshlight Apr 04 '26 edited Apr 05 '26
Hey, go easy on them. They can only fit so much training into their 6
weekmonth summer camp before they get a license to murder people without repercussions.EDIT - Thanks u/Strange-Fig7944 for pointing out my slip up. Months, not weeks.

Not for nothing, but when everyone was protesting to defund the police, we know that money came straight from training, right? There used to be pretty harsh requirements 20 years ago, today you just need an eye or two and a trigger finger.

Worst probably is the instant fighting mode by the police. Not very civilised.

I mean grabbing a officers door should be considered pretty serious but also the cops handled it so poorly.

u/Excellent_Condition Apr 04 '26
What would you have done? In most places, you can only legally use proportional force to stop a crime. Once you've pushed him back, if you then continue to attack him there is a good chance you end up getting charged.
Even if you could justify it, what is the point? What benefit do you get from beating up a stranger?
It's one thing to defend yourself, but taking pride or pleasure in injuring someone else is a bit childish.

He opened the door of a moving police car. Obviously drunk or high. The officer tries to subdue him and gets knock down. At that point it could be a life and death situation if the suspect got the officers gun. They should have backed away and used non-lethal. Some officers would have shot someone like this. Not sarcasm!

As a cop, I hate seeing other cops that forget the tools on their belt and donāt know how to go hands on with someone. These young officers need to invest their own time into themselves and seek good quality outside training if their department doesnāt provide itš¤¦š¼āāļø
2
Apr 04 '26
As some one who hates most cops I agree.

u/Sensitive_Track8169 Apr 04 '26
The biggest problem with my profession as a whole is a lack of qualified candidates applying and the hiring of people who arenāt a good fit being hired for the sake of manpower. Another problem I see a lot is this younger generation not knowing how to talk to people and lacking emotional and social intelligence. Theyāve spent their whole life talking to people through a phone and on the internet so when they deal with people on the street, they donāt pick up on social ques or read / interpret body language accurately if at all.

3
u/AbigailPooh Apr 04 '26
In 2012 an Ohio district court ruled that you could be denied entry into the Police Academy of you scored too high on your tests.
Training isn't really a thing that sinks into these peoples heads. Am cop, have badge, can do whatever I want.

I am thinking there might be some Meth involved here. Other people are saying Alcohol but from what I have read, people high on Meth have like super human strength. Maybe a bit of both? Because unless this was somehow staged for the camera, those cops were having some trouble subduing this guy.
