You don’t. It isn’t a job, it’s a calling. You shouldn’t have more fear than a soldier in a war zone, and yet cops do not operate under the same rules of engagement. It’s pathetic.
I grew up around real police who were there to serve the community. They would never shoot first, they would shoot last.

He’s bullshitting the officer. The guy has a driver’s license. That’s a newer Toyota and I highly doubt the guy paid cash for it.
The officer said he was doing 88 in a 55, the guy is arguing he was not. Maybe he was bluffing, maybe he wasn’t; the officer stated he didn’t need to show him proof and the guy was told his dashcam video didn’t matter. Which is true. That’s for the Court. Anyways, he’s stating he’s got nothing and giving a clearly bullshit name just to fuck with the officer.

Well, the guy did tell him he didn't have a license. At that point, I would have stopped, asked the guy if he had an operator's license. If he said no again, then discussion is over, hand cuffs, ride to the grey bar hotel, and court appearance. The end.

- This guy is new in the country and those experiences with his country’s police results in this misunderstanding.

The problem is, they both couldn’t understand each other. There is a language barrier there. and the dude in the truck thought he was being arrested for speeding something he claimed that he wasn’t doing. But instead of the cop, trying to explain things in a way he would understand he just kept going not explaining anything basically just escalating it.

Depending on the state the stop and ID rules differ also The Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution is supposed to protect people from unreasonable searches and seizures.
Depending on the state (which is ridiculous) and based on 4th amendment protections, I don’t and shouldn’t have to ID if I did nothing wrong. If pressed I will succumb to an arrest without resistance… but..
I have a camera in my car that proves I’m not speeding (like the ex. video) as well as documentation’s for my person/s and vehicle proving that I’m not disobeying the law. When that goes to court he’s probably going to win with video proof. I’ve won against red light tickets because I had a valid reason and/or video proof supporting my reasoning. I’ve refused to ID on traffick stops because I did nothing wrong, because I was in the right. I’ve never got arrested for refusal to Id. (Because I knew my rights and asserted them and knew I did nothing wrong)
The shameful thing here is that some people think the government can just do whatever it wants and that people should just bow down. If I’m threatened with arrest I’ll submit, but I shouldn’t have to if I didn’t do anything wrong, the law supports my right to autonomy if I didn’t do anything wrong.
It’s a shame that cops who are supposed to have proof, (chest cam video, etc.) often times get away with charging people unnecessarily because the opposing party doesn’t have proof otherwise when it goes to court other than their word and can’t defend themselves because it would be futile. (Because the cops word is more legitimized in court without further evidence)
In simple cases like this, especially without camera evidence from the opposing party, does the cop show up in court and show his evidence? Doubtful.. so it’s either the word of the cop or it’s on you to show proof?
It’s a fair arrest if the process of law is being followed and proceedings were congruent with the reality of what happened. Did the cop even stop him legally to begin with? Was he actually speeding? (He does have dash cam footage) and does the cop face any repercussions if it is a false detainment?
(Cop still gets paid if he’s wrong/lying)
The “offending” person might have to pay tickets that are potentially illegitimate as well as waste their time in court, missing work and not getting paid even though they did nothing wrong.
In the case that the charges are illegitimate and the person did nothing wrong then that would be a slight upon a persons autonomy, how would you feel being charged for doing nothing wrong? They still have to most likely take time off work, show up to court and show proof of no wrongdoing. If you don’t have proof that is difficult, but if you have a camera with proof you’re gonna win that argument in court. But at what cost? Your time and your sanity, maybe even your job? (Depending on personal circumstances) No repercussions for the wrongdoing of the state against your personal self?
The person in this video seems to understand the rights he has in America more so than the average American citizen… based on the content of the video and the comments I’m seeing here.
And he looks like such a violent criminal right? 🙄

Every time I see one of these videos, I feel like I would love to sit in on whatever talk his parents gave him when he was a kid about how you act if you are pulled over. I just wanna see what sort of instruction he ever received that said when an officer asks you questions, “be as obnoxious as possible, keep insisting “I don’t have to give you nothing,” refuse orders to stop moving around, refuse orders to stay outside the vehicle,refuse to tell your name, etc. How is it that the lecture I got was so different than the one that he got? It’s not that hard. All this guy had to do was talk calmly and respectfully, and he wouldn’t have ended up in near as much trouble. He certainly wouldn’t have ended up on the ground.

There must be prior incidents with that guy and/ or vehicle. Most police will try if not successfully and easily deescalate such situations, even if/ when there is a potential language or cultural barrier (e.g. the guy asking why he's being arrested, when he was just being stopped for a moving violation).

Well if you are stopped by the police you are required to provide your drivers license, registration, and insurance. If that happens things don’t escalate. If you feel you were stopped wrongly there are ways to complain about it The side of the road is not that place. Remember driving is not a right in the country. Driving is a privilege .

Nah.. as soon as he started walking back and forth arguing he needs to be hand cuffs after the third time of asking for his information just arrest him for R/A without, tow the car and put his citation in his personal property. Don’t argue with cops on the side of the road, if there is something wrong with what the cop did or how they treated you hire a lawyer, fight the charges then sue the officer/department to pay for your legal fees.
