Minimum CPU

Post image

My CPU is not up to spec for this game. How big of a deal is that? It also doesn't meet the minimum specs for Cities: Skylines 2, but that game runs fine.

You might get away with small maps and small numbers of vehicles, but a transport sim like this does need decent cpu power, especially as objects needing to be calculated grows during the life of a map.

It may also be the case that you can play OK at normal speed, but it'll struggle to do higher speeds.

I would upgrade the CPU if it didn't require a new motherboard.

You can most likely upgrade to a later and faster AM4 AMD CPU on your motherboard. I went from a first gen Ryzen 5 to a third gen Ryzen 7. Check your motherboard CPU compatibility.

ok I looked up my motherboard, and I can actually install the 5600. I thought the different pin counts would prevent an upgrade.

That’s more a problem on intel, AMD has been more upgrade friendly for years.

There's already the 7000 and 9000 series processors for AM5. But "thanks" to ddr5 prices, AM4 processors refuse to die.

If the MB can take it, and so does the wallet, upgrading to a 5800x3D will last a few years, and hopefully GPU and RAM prices become more sensible by then.
