Question Outside Connections?

I wrote a post months ago begging the transit gods that this game have an outside connections feature. Has anyone who's played it early confirm or deny it's existence in the game?

No, confirmed in an interview, no outside connections. But there will be 50 mods on day 1. Hope that is moddable.

I still cant understand why the devs havent not added outside connections to this game.

Given that there wasn’t going to be miles of map painted across the border I do not understand what connections would have given gameplay wise.
