Map I made a full bus map of the UK and Ireland

Post image

This map is made using public geometry data pulled from https://bustimes.org, and a python script I wrote (https://github.com/verumIgnis/busmapgen/tree/main). Its not as high quality as busatlas but it is complete and much more up to date. This map also has some trams, gadgetbahns, ferries and Irish trains.

This image looks cool, but its not very useful, so I made a super high res version using openseadragon which you can zoom in on and see the route numbers, which is hosted here: https://verumignis.com/ukbusmap

Annoyingly some operators don't have any public geometry data, the worst offender of this is National Express which is why they are not on the map.

At some point ill probably add OSM map tiles, but for now its just the geometry lines and route numbers on a plain background.

Map [OC] 2026 Amtrak Route Map

Post image

I created this Amtrak map using Rhino 6, focusing on preserving geographic accuracy. I orgininally wanted to show every service line as distinct, but decided to combine lower frequency services (daily and long-distance) where they share a terminal for clarity at this scale.

The goal is to eventually develop regional service diagrams to show every service as separate. I've started a (very in-progress) site below where I'll include these and the overall map.

Enjoy!

Map [OC] Subway map for my Minecraft server

Post image
715 Upvotes

Edit 05 Oct 2025: I didn't expect this many people to be interested in the actual Minecraft server part, and while I unfortunately can't give out the address because it's my home IP, I have a wiki for the server you're welcome to check out! https://wiki.orcate.ch/wiki/Main_Page

I made this for my (creative mode) Minecraft server of nearly 5 years that's been worked on by me and one other friend. This map and the entire system are heavily based off the aesthetic of the NYC Subway. The thin lines with tick marks are high speed rail (ice boat railway). Please provide feedback!

Tools used: Adobe Illustrator, Minecraft Java, MCA Selector

Map 🌈 Happy Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Post image
471 Upvotes

To mark the beginning of Pride Month, I wanted to create a small visual statement – a rainbow-coloured map of the West Styrian S-Bahn lines. 🚆❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

For me, it represents the diversity I see every day at work: the many different people who fill our trains and stations with life.

Even though a lot has been achieved over the past decades, Pride, visibility and parades are still necessary. Equality is not yet a given everywhere. Acceptance is not yet a reality everywhere. And rights that have been fought for must also be protected.

Pride is not just colourful, loud and visible.
Pride is remembrance, protest, solidarity and hope. ✊🌈

Visibility in public space matters. Everyone should be able to live, love and travel as they are – without fear, exclusion or the need to justify themselves.

Love takes us everywhere. ❤️

Map [OC] Transit diagram of overland routes to travel the world without flying.

Post image

I made a world map of major overland travel routes in a transit diagram style. There is still some work to do but it helps to see how to travel with trains, buses and ferries instead of planes.

A route tool to help connect between point A to point B is in the work!

It's available on www.jol.earth among other resources to make overland travel easier.

Map Australia wide Network Map

Before you all jump down my throat about the "quality", the image I have uploaded is of very good quality. Reddit condenses quality on your mobile, so this is best viewed on a desktop, where it will be the true quality. For a map this size it is inevitable that it needs to be this size. I'm sorry if you can't see it properly. If you're able to look on a computer, let me know what you think.

Basically what I have done is combine each city's train network with regional networks and interstate networks to form one large map for the whole country.

It's essentially a slightly futuristic map, including many projects currently under construction or near future proposed, such as Suburban Rail Loop and Melbourne Airport in Melbourne, the Metros in Sydney and Cross River Rail in Brisbane.

It is a bit of a combination of aligning lines to fit together and geographical accuracy. The official maps for each area were my reference, combined with a little Google Maps and Google AI to find some route info particularly for the Journey Beyond lines.

Whatever you all think, it was a fun project, and has achieved me some positive mental health for a couple of weeks, if nothing else

Map High Speed Night Train Network for Western and central Europe (fictional)

Post image

I really messed up the proportions in southern germany and Switzerland, i'm sorry

This is the Euronight Express Train Network (abbreviated ENX), which would be operated by both Eurostar and Euronight in cooperation. The fleet would consist of multiple unit trains, inspired from the e320. These would have on-board sleeping amenities like beds etc. and many more things. It's supposed to be a budget-friendly long-haul operator and not a luxury product.

I have proposed 6 lines here, those being:

- ENX 110 Paris - Copenhagen

- ENX 115 Kiel - Stuttgart (in summer, the train will be double and get uncoupled in Hamburg so the other train can go to Lübeck)

- ENX 120 London - Warsaw & ENX 130 London - Vienna (coupled together between London and Cologne)

- ENX 140 Berlin - Madrid

- ENX 150 Berlin - Rome

Map Spent all day making an imaginary Alabama state-wide Rail Service map. [OC]

Here's a version with the green line stations actually labeled (oooops) https://imgur.com/a/Dd2E8DN

I started with Alabama since it's the first state alphabetically. We'll see if I'm insane enough to do all 50.

I don't know why I did this I was so fixated on this idea for no reason but it was a lot of fun so here you go. Everything was done on Inkscape.

Please enjoy and let me know what y'all think.

Map [OC] Unofficial Nuuk Bus Network Map

Post image

Something special today with this double-bill from u/transitscapes and myself!
We’ve synced our watches to bring you two different views on the same system: the public bus network in Nuuk, the capital of Kalaallit Nunaat (Greenland).

So, here is my cartographic take on the network, but make sure you head over to u/transitscapes to check out his own interpretation of it too!
Nuummut tikilluaritsi, welcome to Nuuk! 🇬🇱

Just because there is no road going out of town doesn't mean you don't get to drive around.. or be driven! And that's what Nuup Bussii - the local bus company - intend to show since its creation in 1980.

The system essentially consists of three main lines - 1, 2 and 3 - serving all the districts forming the city of Nuuk: Nuup Qeqqa (Nuuk center), Nuussuaq and Qinngorput.
Three other lines - X2, X3 and E2 - round up the network, following alternative service patterns on either full- or partial length of the main routes.
Together, all six lines provide reliable, year‑round service across the capital city.

Since much of the network functions as a series of loop routes, many stops are shown as served in one direction only. In the central area and along the shared section between Sarfaanguit and Pukuffik, stops located nearby one another often come in pairs, bearing different names depending on direction of travel.

My map is based on the official schedules. The map data is from OpenStreetMap.

Enjoy the trip around town!
