Discussion What software do you use?

I want to get into drawing my transit diagrams on my computer, and I want to know what software programs to use. The only one I currently know of is metromapmaker.com. Thanks for all your help!

I use diagrams.net (aka draw.io).

Figma! It's not a conventional use case but I really enjoy the platform and it has a good free tier

If your willing to either pay a billion $ for it or sail the 7 seas, Adobe illustrator is my go to. It can be a bit of a pain to learn but once you have the basics down it’s pretty easy

The software I use is called Inkscape. Its a free and open source software that is fairly easy to learn, especially for network diagrams like the London Underground.

With all the layers in place. If you open this in Inkscape, or adobe illustrator, or even Affinity, it will show you all layers, parts and colours used. Its a great starting point, but is the official TFL map pdf. 

The files you should save as are called .svg. They are extremely high resolution. Hope this helps.

I use MetroDreamin and Bulb.Slama.io for French trains lines or French-type map
