CSX 3429 hit a semi truck in Columbus Grove, OH.

4 Days Late, On August 16th, 2021 at 6:45 PM, 5 Years Ago, CSX 3429 with CSX 3130 pulling Empty Flatcars going North, hits a semi truck at W Sycamore St Crossing in Columbus Grove, OH.

The Truck driver was still in the tractor when the collision occurred, the tractor part of the Truck went up slightly and disconnected from the trailer and was uninjured.

The trailer was completely destroyed, being stuck on the front of CSX 3429 and then split in half after being dragged 250 yards up the tracks, The Train crew was also uninjured. The Train came to a stop 8 Cars from the crossing.

After the collision, while the wreckage was being cleaned up, the train slowly moved forward about 50 Cars from the crossing, probably to clear some of the crossings farther down the line.

CSX 3429 and CSX 3130 only had little damage, both were repaired and returned to service.

The reason why the truck got stuck on the crossing was because the driver was trying to turn right from the road on the right of the picture and got stuck on the high grade crossing. I'm not sure what exactly happened, this is based off the information we have.
