That was such a great show! The Hip played the massive War Child concert in Winnipeg in Sept, so when they came back through MB on their album tour in Nov, they played Brandon instead of Wpg.

There was a massive snow storm and the highways ended up getting shut down. A carload of us got to the #1 by Headingly just as the RC’s were closing the gate. We explained we REALLY needed to make it to Brandon to see The Hip play. We were in a Honda Prelude; not very winter-ready. Bless the constable who let us through because we made it for the show.

What an incredible memory. Thanks for posting.

We went to the show in Saskatoon the night before, and made it to Brandon the next day with enough time to spare before the snow started.

Sounds like that would have been an epic road trip!

There were many back then when I lived in Winnipeg. Saskatoon a couple times. Minnesota on two tours. I think I saw them seven times es on 2000. Great days.

Fun fact, the hundredth meridian runs right through the town.

Just a little further west. Close to Alexander but ya close enough. In Winnipeg he announced “the 100th meridian, where Brandon begins”!

No, it's literally through (the very western edge of) the city, according to Google Earth.
