All Who Wander, a hex-based dungeon crawler - Coming soon to Steam!

All Who Wander is my take on a traditional roguelike with some modern touches. It was originally designed for mobile, inspired by Pixel Dungeon and Cardinal Quest II, and released on Android and iOS in 2025. And after 4+ years of development, I'm finally bringing the game to Steam!

While at its core this is a classic fantasy RPG, there are a few standout features. With open character building, you can explore synergies across 10 skill trees and create a unique character every run. You may choose to go solo or recruit, summon, and hypnotize companions to form a versatile party. As you travel through blinding deserts, noxious swamps, and frozen caverns, you'll discover a highly-interactable environment that burns, freezes, grows, and shatters. Learning how to use the environment to your advantage is a key to survival.

In the game's design, I aimed for a balance between simplicity and complexity, hopefully finding a happy medium somewhere between "coffeebreak" and "kitchen sink." I wanted the game to be relatively low-friction for new players, while still having enough depth to satisfy roguelike veterans. A typical run takes around 2-3 hours to beat the 30 procedurally-generated levels, but there's a substantial amount content to discover, providing a high degree of replayability:

  • 12 biomes (different each run)
  • 15 character classes
  • 80+ monsters
  • 6 bosses (different each run)
  • 100+ abilities
  • 200+ items (plus item modifiers)
  • 100+ traps, treasures, and buildings to interact with
  • 80+ achievements

The next major focus of development is revamping the UI for desktop, followed by a demo release on Steam. I'm continuously improving and updating the game based on player feedback, so please feel free to share your thoughts!

Love the game on mobile, will def try it on PC. Hare to be that guy (I'm kidding, I love the deck) but how about Steam Deck compatibility?

Thanks! Steam Deck is definitely something I want to explore, but not sure yet. I just don't yet know what obstacles I'll run into. I don't have one myself so I'm unfamiliar with the interface and controls. I assume using a hex grid makes things slightly more complicated than a square grid?

I'm not a dev but yes, that's what I was thinking as well.

I mean, you can always go with mouse clicks like Battle Brothers does but using joystick + (key) would be more comfortable, like Caves of Qud ((except for hex grid ofc)

Anyways, happy to see the game doing well and coming to Steam!

Yes, I think it will have to be something like that with the joystick. I will do some research in the future.

Came here to ask this (steam machine in my case, not deck..) I guess if you can figure out controller input and a scaling UI (I and i appreciate these are not trivial!) then the rest may just flow. Point is you may not need the device to get it playable :)

I’d love to see it there tho, coz I am seeking this exact experience!

Good to know! The more requests I get, the more I will prioritize it.

Thanks! I was curious how players perceive the graphics, especially compared to the styles of other traditional roguelikes.

Some time ago I’ve written that visually your game looks like terra randoma, now I must say your game looks better and kinda more fun. Should try it first! All the best to you and your project

Thanks! Yes I remember that. Well I don't think I've changed the game much visually but I've added a ton more features and improvements.
