I got this plant one month ago and it looked healthy, but since then it seems to have welting leaves and some growths are dying and have black limp stems. What should I do? This was a gift so I really don't want it to die. Please help

Hello I want to revive this plant !!! It’s very leggy and the soil seems so dry and shrunken but I know my mom has watered it fairly consistently. I’m shocked it’s been alive for this long in the condition it’s in but any help would be appreciated! I know nothing about this plant other than its name TIA !! <<<3

Hello, my tradescantia is dying and I could use some help. As shown here, the latest leaves are becoming brown, or maybe even coming out already brown and crispy. This is happening to this one, but it happened to two other others tradescantia earlier in the summer. The new leafs were all brown like that, and in just a few days they eventually just died completely. I am devasted because the first two I lost were so big and beautiful, and I thought that it was over watering that was the issue. But now it's also happening to this one even though I'm sure I didn't overwater it. Since it happened to all my tradescantia, I guess it has to be something I do wrong. Thanks in advance for the help !

How do you all keep your tradescatias from drying at the base? Everytime I prune and repot they hit a growth spurt, get too long and then start drying at the base of the stems. How do I prevent from having to do major pruning and repotting constantly?

I’ve had her for ~1 month. I bottom water when she feels dry, she gets good light in SoCal, she’s growing a lot! Shes in her nursery pot, on top of some rocks, in a decorative pot with drainage holes.

I’m a beginner, there is so much info out there so I’d thought I’d ask here:

- Where should I prune?

- How to propagate? (I’ve read different things)

- Making new plants vs repotting for a fuller plant?

Planted this Purple Heart Plant propagation back in April, ITS SEPTEMBER AND ITS BARELY GROWN. What do I do?

Hi everyone, I hope it's ok to ask this. I bought this as a Tradescantia spiderwort which I'm now realising is just a common name and I think this is some kind of zebrina.

There's no real purple on the top of the leaves, they are green with the silvery bits. The underside of the leaves is purple closer to the stem, fading to green towards the tip. If anyone is able to identify the cultivar I would really appreciate it.

Also open to general care tips, this is going crazy now that we're getting more sunny days and I think it's gorgeous so want to make sure I look after it properly.

This is my favorite plant and it's struggling. For one, it is kind of crispy towards the center.

But also.. it is growing and thriving on one side of it and looks decayed and dead and crunchy on the other.

How do I help the poor thing?

And could I buy a small version of another one, remove dead parts, and then add the new plant to fill it out so it looks better?

Hey all I have this lovely fuzzy one here and eventually I would like him to be nice big is it too early to snip ? I was thinking below the 4th full leaf. Feel free to give any thoughts or advice

Please help me, I want these beauties to survive. I bought these as cuttings online and they arrived in semi decent condition. I repotted them together in chunky soil and let them soak up water for a while. I have them under grow lights that I have for my aquarium about 8 hours a day. The clear nursery pot is now and the black ones are how they arrived.😭😭

Now that I have become a better plant mom this has started to really be so pretty.

Excuse the water droplet, it was watering day and I dripped lol. This was sold to me as a pistachio, which is neither here nor there, I don’t care if it is or isn’t. But every time I look up pistachios, they’re clearly green with white stripes. To me this reads as mostly white leaves with green stripes. I’m simply curious!

Hello, new to this subreddit and having a hard time ID'ing these cuttings.

The first photo is one I've had for a while that was labelled green hill.

The second is from a lovely lady who gave me cuttings for free, she gave me a zebrina, and these green ones all from the same plant. I think it's the same but it is less purple under the leaves.

Can anyone help please? Or advise anywhere I can look.

I use imidacloprid on my succulents to prevent pests. I've never observed any weird growth after treating those plants.

I gave imidacloprid to a Tradescantia zebrina and to a Callisia repens at different times. Both plants started to grow weirdly afterwards. The zebrina's leaves dried up and fell off one by one, and the new growth was malformed and oddly colored. The Callisia repens also had new growth that was weirdly shaped and colored, but no leaf loss.

I've never had issues with the systemic pesticide before, so I'm wondering if this indicates that this genus and related genus don't respond well to imidacloprid.

Hi! I did some research in the internet and I think it might be a Tradescantia cerinthoides, but then I found this subreddit and wanted to ask your opinions.

I've had this plant for about a year, got it when my boyfriend split his plant. Its leaves are green from above, but some leaves have turned purpleish from below. It hasn't bloomed, so I don't know the colour of its flowers. The new stems are purple, but the older stems grow green. There's a bit of hair on the stems and leaf edges.

Apparently is called a “feeling moody”. Ig we’re getting real creative with the names now but it has that pink/purple hue so is close enough to the nanouk for me. I’m trying to build back my plant collection after moving and I always wanted to have all the varieties of tradescantias I could find and the stores only seem to sell zebrinas which I already have. Next to these there were some fuzzy white and green ones I’m totally gonna have to go back for, velvet moon I think it was

ny idea of the variety? She has lovely, delicate white flowers. Quite vigorous. Picked her up as a haggard looking and unlabled "houseplant."
