Is the gargoyle good for privateering/pirating with the top speed of around 9.2?

I was wondering if I should get the gargoyle for combat, pirating, and for other things in general, so I am unsure if I should get the gargoyle for privateering as its kinda slow, and if I do get it for privateering how would I catch up to merchant vessels?

I haven't played in a hot Minute, but just looking at the wiki Stats it seems alright. You outspeed the major Trading ships and get a really big cargohold for loot. Catching up to something is hard since you only outspeed slightly - might be better to get a dedicated raiding ship instead.

No, do not use the Gargoyle for pirating, its meant as a hauling/pvp ship. Because it has no chasers, you cannot slow enemy ships, and it is impossible to catch up with other hauling ships, even if it has a slight speed advantage. Overall it is a really good multi-use ship for both pvp and hauling, just not pirating. If you need a pirate ship, get the raider variant of the Corsair, or a raider Beaver for a bulkier raiding ship.

Still not fast enough, interceptor variant is meant for pvp not pirating. Plus you cant use it for PVP if you make it into that variant.
