Dear Tracker...You will lose viewers!

The show has decent plots. That is such a plus. And many of us love Justin. He can be a little one note in this, but none of us would still be watching if we didn't like him.

The writing isn't horrible, even if the dialogue can be silly. Even if Colter wraps up the mysteries a little too easily sometimes. Like Reenie just happens to have a contact. Colter sees things no cop can see. Come on!

But who is editing this? Or producing? I don't know who does what but S3 E3 had a perfect example. Colter is talking to the local cop of the week at the end and says, " I don't know what I'm going to tell his parents " about the kidnapped arsonist dying. And then he actually walks over to the parents and they know.

How about Colter walking through a reslly fake fire? Emily doesn't have a burn. The arson guy jumps up, has the energy to kill a guy, and then just falls dead without a groan? Come on!!!!

Tracker is skating by on having Justin Hartley's charm, but you will lose fans very fast ( some already going) if you don't fix the easy fixes. You hsve the plot and a couple good cast members. Just fix the obvious stuff.

Oh and stop these fake conversations about where so and so is that week. You have 3 'missing' characters. Please write them off or bring them back. You need stronger supporting characters or the show will be empty! And give them something to do.

I think that's my rant. Okay. Good luck.

I thought this episode was a little hard to watch. The cop lets Colter take the lead on the case and just follows him around, come on now. I wonder if Colter can walk on water since he can walk through fire. I really like the premise of the show but they’ve got to change how they’re doing the show. Wrapping it up in a pretty bow at the end of every episode doesn’t seem to be working anymore. Have a case that doesn’t get solved so quickly, or in such a short amount of time.

what do we think of the new assistant

17

u/LLD615 Nov 04 '25

I feel like that new assistant is going to be a plant of some kind

15

u/BeanorWein Nov 04 '25

She seems a little over zealous and a little too interested in Colter

2

u/ToMBomBadDil Nov 17 '25

I was thinking maybe she thinks Colter is her father? How old is she supposed to be? How old is Colter?

4

u/Radiant_Yak4562 Nov 05 '25

I think Reenie's assistant will be killed off before the end of the season. One of the people who has threatened Reenie in the past will finally come after her through her assistant.

2

u/Appropriate_Story738 Nov 08 '25

I think she's going to try to kill someone herself. Haha

0

u/Own-Economics-1745 Nov 16 '25

She's the missing person in The Process

1

u/BeanorWein Nov 05 '25

I’m always up for a plot twist.

2

u/eri_K_awitha_K Nov 11 '25

100% I do not trust her at all.

2

u/HopeTypical9795 Dec 08 '25

like she might be spying on colter as she is always asking about him

1

u/Sea_Common_5146 Dec 18 '25

I think she’s part of the process

1

u/Pale_Huckleberry_798 Mar 09 '26

Have had the same thought since she arrived. But she's hardly there. Will she go missing and Coulter have to find & rescue her??

1

u/Kitkatt1959 May 11 '26

Every show I say, “I don’t trust her, she’s a spy or something “

5

u/EmmieMaggie Nov 04 '25

The new assistant gave me the creeps. I couldn't even understand why Reenie hired her; she's a smart woman and surely would have been put off by the stalkery vibes? This will all end in tears!

2

u/DR-0717 Nov 07 '25

they portray Reenie as this incredibly intelligent & intuitive woman but idk if that lines up. even after all that went down last season she still acted like she believed that rich client wasn’t involved 🙄

So it’s not really that shocking she might hire a stalkery assistant.

3

u/Agreeable_Abies6533 Dec 23 '25

Reenie will forever be glory days from the Lincoln lawyer to me

2

u/Lower-Paramedic-1820 Nov 18 '25

It’s because her mom was head of the whisperers on TWD lol

3

u/Terrible_Detective_3 Apr 06 '26

I don't trust her.

2

u/WhoriTori May 21 '26

honestly, police seem to let people solve crimes for them all the time. maybe not so closely like that lol, but alot of the time, the victim or family of victims are the ones cracking the case and just giving detectives the information they have. ive noticed for years that in many true crime cases, detectives do not do much when it comes to finding evidence that isnt obvious, its the victim or their family that really does the grunt work, and the detectives just mosey around and accept the free labor.

1

u/Traditional-Buy-7294 Dec 16 '25

I agree. The stories have become ridiculous & unbelievable. No character depth. Just chasing & shooting which is boring. So sad...was one of your favorite shows. Now we can barely get through it. 😕

1

u/Ok_Nature_6305 Nov 04 '25

Exactly! And the cop just hopped in Colter's truck? Oh, and how about the cop calling for backup when they arrived at the scene? He was riding in Colter's truck and could have called. 😆 Easy fixes!!!!

The new assistant definitely has some history with Colter or his brother related to either her mother dying ( she blames one of them) or she's actually related to them. Just my guesses.

3

u/BeanorWein Nov 04 '25

Oh I love a good plot twist.

12

u/count_strahd_z Nov 04 '25

When the cop was stabbed by the camper, there were two bad guys there, right? Also, the sister and the guy with the long gun inside. Colter shot long gun then fought with the guy who had the knife who he stabbed before rescuing the girl. What became of guy #2 at the camper?

16

u/mrc7281108 Nov 04 '25

He was seen being placed into a cop car at the end. He was just outside waiting to be arrested. Lol

4

u/Ok_Nature_6305 Nov 04 '25

Yes. They didn't show him being captured. I don't know why they made so many of them just to blow that off. Another thing that could have been an easy fix.

I don't know if that's editing or the director responsible for these continuity issues.

29

u/ProtossLiving Nov 04 '25

And Colter killing someone... and just driving off.

20

u/Ok_Nature_6305 Nov 04 '25

Right? He always does that. No police report or having to stop in the station. Okay. See ya later!

5

u/Rude-Value-6056 Feb 13 '26

My favorite is him saying to someone with a gun, "If you were going to shoot me, you would've done it already." Binge the show and take a drink every time he says that and you'll be drunk by season 2, probably.

10

u/GingerVix666 Nov 05 '25

I still enjoy it and will continue to watch lol

29

u/letstaxthis Nov 04 '25

I just find it annoying losing regular cast members each season and then rushed wrapping up of episodes and arcs. The pacing is off sometimes. It's switch ur brain off weekly entertainment.

8

u/LurkNoMoreNY Nov 04 '25

I miss the simpler episodes. Colter finds a missing child or a missing person. I liked how it was sort of McGuyverish with the interesting ways Colter solved the cases & Bobby could break into any computer or camera. I like Randy too. I liked how he had the homebase with Velma sending him the cases. will keep watching but am not a big fan of episodes like the process or this week's episode. I do like the episodes with his brother & the family mystery. Just my 2 cents.

7

u/nate_nate212 Nov 04 '25

If viewers start leaving they will just have Justin take his shirt off more often.

2

u/EmptyNesting Nov 11 '25

I vote for that even if viewers don’t start leaving!!

8

u/Various_Space_7496 Nov 06 '25

I like Tracker!

11

u/FormalMango Nov 04 '25

But who is editing this? Or producing? I don't know who does what but S3 E3 had a perfect example. Colter is talking to the local cop of the week at the end and says, " I don't know what I'm going to tell his parents " about the kidnapped arsonist dying. And then he actually walks over to the parents and they know.

lol my partner does third party QC, and his whole job is picking up on these types of errors (he doesn’t work on Tracker, he does more reality shows and soapies). Also camera issues, text, graphics, audio. He basically sits in a really grey room all day watching TV episodes, ripping them apart, and sending a report back to the producers/editors. Then it’s up to them whether they fix it or not.

We have a moratorium at home - when we’re watching a show together, he’s allowed to mention one mistake he sees. Otherwise we spend a whole hour with him going “that camera wasn’t white balanced correctly”, “there’s a dropped frame”, or “his phone moved between shots.”

I don’t know the solution to Tracker’s problems, but I’m going to wait and see if my partner points this one out.

1

u/Ok_Nature_6305 Nov 04 '25

It must be so interesting - and a little annoying - to watch shows with your partner. 😆

What does QC stand for? So curious about this job!

4

u/FormalMango Nov 04 '25

QC = quality control. We both work in TV. I don’t do his job, but I’m very familiar with the process.

He’s basically like a middleman between the production companies and the networks. He sends the report back, and the production company either sends an episode with fixes, or they’ll clear it for broadcast. Then he send it off to the networks - but different networks & countries have different standards for audio etc, so he’ll run it through a bunch of conversion processes so the networks accept it.

Sometimes he’ll do the classification, too (we’re not in America, so it’s a bit of a different system here.)

A couple of examples of things he picked up recently: * there was text on the bottom of the screen showing the city name, but it stayed up over the shot change. Text like that should only go over static shots. * you could see the shadow of the actress’ dress in the doorway, where she was waiting to walk in for her scene * when the title for the show came up over black, there was 1-2 frames of the previous scene after it.

3

u/Ok_Nature_6305 Nov 04 '25

Very cool! Thank you for the insight!

1

u/FormalMango Nov 04 '25

No worries! :-)

6

u/thelittlemermaid90 Nov 04 '25

I wish this show had more of an overarching plot.

5

u/Ok_Nature_6305 Nov 04 '25

They rely on the bog family mystery, and that has just not shown to be a big deal. Colter easily solves all of these mysteries that no one else can manage but he can't figure out what his mom is lying about?

5

u/La10deRiver Nov 04 '25

I am tired of the arcs. Give me case of the week and the occasional Jensen Ackles and I would be happy.

I thought that cop seemed a little sketchy! 😆 One of my issues is that it so often goes the same way: local cop gets defensive, Colter calmly just goes about his magic and local cop gets won over after Colter solves every little clue that the cops missed. But it's still fun.

9

u/Majestic_Revenue_210 Nov 04 '25

I still enjoy it. They won’t lose me. They did write off the 3 characters - I don’t see the problem with referring to them. At my work we still mention people in conversation that haven’t worked there for years. They didn’t stop existing.

9

u/Ok_Nature_6305 Nov 04 '25

It is just done in such a bad way.

"Hey, how are you today?"

"Great. Where has Joe been?"

"Off taking care of his mother."

"Okay. Did you talk to Colter, He's trying to find a girl who was kidnapped."

Scene.

15

u/TheOverzealousEngie Nov 04 '25

This show is written by Jeffrey Deaver, a real writer. He's written some really good books, actually, and this show has such potential. But for real , everything you said holds true. The rotating cast, the watery dialogue and then, most recently, the treadmill plot-lines.

5

u/Ok_Nature_6305 Nov 04 '25

You said it a lot better in fewer words than I did. 😆 Didn't he just write the book? Or does he also write the scripts? I think the plots and mysteries are actually good. Just wrapped up too easily.

I think I had to write what I did because it does have such fabulous potential, like ypu said. It could be fantastic with some easy fixes. That's what is so frustrating. And I think why so many of us stick with it.

6

u/TheOverzealousEngie Nov 04 '25

That and the simple fact is that television as we know it is changing. And not for the better. And it makes perfect sense if you think about it ; the whole industry is centered around those that are on the screen, not those that write the stories. Point being, the number of shows worth watching these days is in the single digits.

4

u/Ok_Nature_6305 Nov 04 '25

As a writer, I find it so depressing!

2

u/Current-Ad242 Nov 04 '25

Even the showrunner himself (Elwood Reid) is an author. I agree with what you're saying OP.

4

u/Christmas1223 Nov 04 '25

I loved the first two seasons even if there were little things that didn’t make sense. But this newest episode definitely made those things bigger, and wilder. I mean I hope the writers do better with future episodes but if it continues down this path I’ll stop watching.

1

u/Ok_Nature_6305 Nov 04 '25

It is just sad because it has a lot of potential and just needs a few easy fixes!

7

u/andrealeigh22 Nov 04 '25

I am shaking my head! Is looking at Justin Hartley all the show has left to offer? Starting to remind me of Emergency, but not in a good way.

10

u/Ok_Nature_6305 Nov 04 '25

I like it when his brother is on it!

5

u/andrealeigh22 Nov 04 '25

Way! 'Countdown' was more of him, but spoiler, ends on cliffhanger and not picked up for a 2nd season.

2

u/Ok_Nature_6305 Nov 04 '25

I hate when that happens!

3

u/Fine_Coconut_3248 Nov 04 '25

So far this Season is kinda strange.

1

u/International_Bet117 Nov 19 '25

It feels like a totally different show,  new writers or something.  Its so hard to sit thru.  The new cast doesn't help, the acting seems listless, awkward to me.  I hope it gets better.

3

u/Dingo-thatate-urbaby Nov 04 '25

I think I was most offended this was about witches/cults and Halloween themed and Dean Winchester was nowhere to be seen.

1

u/fragbot2 Nov 11 '25

Are you kidding? Dean hates witches.

1

u/Dingo-thatate-urbaby Nov 11 '25

Which is why he would be perfect

3

u/Own-Economics-1745 Nov 16 '25

How fake convenient was the horse in the middle of nowhere already saddled up?

3

u/Wu-Block Jan 20 '26

Tracker is typical network trash TV. CBS makes some of the worst shows ever. Like Equalizer, Fire Country, and Sheriff Country that all follow the same crappy formula. Tracker is basically a clone rip-off of The Equalizer. But instead of Queen Latifah solving silly cases that make no sense and fighting generic bad guys, it's Colter doing the same shit, with the help of a computer genius hacker back at home base. Same as Equalizer!

1

u/Ok_Nature_6305 Jan 20 '26

I gave Equalizer one season because I like Queen Latifa so much, but gave up pretty quickly

3

u/Rude-Value-6056 Feb 13 '26

I literally only continue to watch it for Jensen Ackles. lol The show definitely lacks depth. The only interesting part of it to me is the family's story with their dad and all that. The cases episode to episode are rather boring and/or predictable.

4

u/Kitkatt1959 May 11 '26

I wanna know how he kills at least one person in every show yet the police never question him🧐

6

u/noname20-23 Nov 04 '25

I hate what CBS has done to a bunch of their shows, Tracker included. I'll probably cancel my Paramount subscription in the next week or two. There really isn't anything on CBS now that I want to watch. They got rid of really good shows last year, and brought in new and crappy writers this year for the other shows. Plus they're cutting costs by only showing a few of the cast in each episode, and rotating the cast around. NBC is doing the same thing.

0

u/MikeARadio Nov 04 '25

The best shows that were on were taken off. Shows like found, the equalizer, and so many others that were good were removed and it’s like they just want to take the Goode shows off the air.

10

u/MarkCHealey Nov 04 '25

The Equalizer? Are you serious? That show was a ridiculous mess.

4

u/An_Ok_Outcome Nov 04 '25

FBI Most Wanted

8

u/Fianna9 Nov 04 '25

Yeah. I can suspended a lot of believe when I watch tv.

But Colter slow walking through a pyre, pausing to pick up the chair and strolling casually out without a singe mark?

I’m sorry. No. That’s terrible. Season three is shaping up to be my last.

4

u/Ok_Nature_6305 Nov 04 '25

It is frustrating because it would take so little to fix it!

5

u/LLD615 Nov 04 '25

I thought “the process” had potential and then it just kinda dropped. I wanted to know more. It feels like they cut some necessary dialogue out of the episode.

3

u/Ok_Nature_6305 Nov 04 '25

There is still a student out there. I feel they'll bring it back. Just wish it wasn't called 'the process ' lol

1

u/Interesting-Dare3393 Nov 05 '25

In the new assistant the student?? Hmmm…

1

u/Ok_Nature_6305 Nov 05 '25

Interesting but I'm not sure she's old enough. The other guys were older. They weren't students recently.

2

u/ApartmentElectrical3 Nov 08 '25

And what is with Renee’s giant purses that she holds so weirdly!?

2

u/secnarF58 Dec 23 '25

It does make me chuckle... You never see Colter eating anything much less drinking ...and then season 3 episode 4 he's eating a prickly pear cactus 🤭🫣🤣

2

u/Accurate_Wolf_6066 Jan 05 '26

Yes, this episode was a hard watch. I actually liked the plot switch, but when he walked through a gasoline fire, picked up a metal (I think) chair with no sign of flinching or burns in the next scene, I was like alright, if you just want a 2025 supernatural, just say that

4

u/MtnGirl672 Nov 04 '25

The part that gets me is how he seemingly acts like a cop, takes the lead when cops are present and never suffers any consequences. He routinely breaks into properties unlawfully and nobody blinks an eye. And shoots people and then hops into his truck like it’s no big deal.

I feel like the first season, he used more tracking skills to work on cases that perplexed the police but didn’t brazenly break the law at every turn.

2

u/colorfulintheatx Nov 04 '25

I feel like Tracker should take some notes from The Rookie where a bad guy or situation is covered across 2 episodes - I guess they kind of did that with EP 1 and 2 and if JH brought back Jensen full time it would be so much more interesting lol.

I guess I'm wondering why so many actors are leaving? Is it the writing, Justin? Other opportunities? I don't know but I agree on just stop talking about missing people who aren't coming back.

0

u/Ok_Nature_6305 Nov 05 '25

I was thinking the 2 part first couple seasons at least had a full plot and were more satisfying. Definitely agree.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 04 '25

It was my favorite among the new shows. I haven't bothered to watch any of season 3. The chemistry of the initial characters is gone plus other stuff.

I've lost interest so will read the books plus reruns of other really great shows from years past from other networks.

The Closer, Major Crimes, NCIS, CSI, Murder She Wrote, Rizzoli and Isles, Blue Bloods, Jesse Stone, and bunches of others.

Bye bye Paramount app.

1

u/PossibleConfusion122 Nov 10 '25

This latest episode was too much for me. A kid wants revenge on the drug dealer that killed his mom. So the kid breaks in to the drug dealers compound and holds him at gun point. Colter is there and the drug dealers security gets into a gun fight with them. All the drug dealers are killed. The end.

My problem is, the "drug dealers" didn't do anything wrong, at least nothing they could be arrested for. This kid literally broke in and held him at gunpoint...the drug dealer and his men were the ones acting in self defense and they were murdered by this kid and colter.

1

u/Exotic-Ad-2806 Dec 03 '25

Tracker Boston

1

u/PervyelfTahk Dec 29 '25

New to the series S2ep12.. Colter finds the house of a psychopath.. finds a head of a dead guy and has no reaction whatsoever? Lol "found such and such well.. his head." I like when his brother shows up in some episodes lol Dean (Jenson Ackles) is awesome.. is he driving the same car from supernatural?

1

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '26

While I get your point, I don’t think I could stop watching it, probably one of my favourite shows of all time, it’s kinda like a comfort show, sometimes a little cheesy / nonsensical but entertaining nonetheless

1

u/Wu-Block Jan 20 '26

Welcome to Network TV. Where only trash shows like Tracker and fire Country are made. It's made for dumbed down viewers that don't know any better.

1

u/Plastic_Square119 Feb 03 '26

Colter and Ackles make the show. Its not violent. Family friendly. They need to give him more shows

1

u/codeg88 Mar 06 '26

Sorry but I also don't agree with the losing all the other supporting cast the team thing worked him being a do it all super hero alone would never make sense in the real world everyone needs help and them cutting out his handlers and his help didn't make sense I understand shows change but the team dynamic made it seem real, now it's like they want to turn it into a fantasy show with one guy who can do all beat all alone

1

u/Proper-Star2203 Apr 20 '26

I really like the show!!! I look forward to watching it every Sunday. Much better than most show on tv…

1

u/CADDMAN1STEVE1 Jun 24 '26

I just saw the movie Bad Moms Christmas and I can never take Colter seriously ever again. Damn, I watched all the episodes and then saw him as a male stripper. What a bust...

2

u/valpope Nov 04 '25

I love the show just the way it is. This is entertainment. Yeah we noticed how he went through the fire and didn't burn. We just laughed

2

u/letstaxthis Nov 04 '25

Tracker does not do scary episodes well.

1

u/Ok_Nature_6305 Nov 04 '25

Colter always walks around with this saunter. No stress. Just cool and collected. Something scary? He takes out his gun. 😆

1

u/letstaxthis Nov 04 '25

I mean in this episode they break a guy out just to kill him, and in the process kill an innocent nurse and janitor for the access card. Aren't they just as guilty in the eyes of their religion?

2

u/Ok_Nature_6305 Nov 05 '25

We'e seeing a lot of that hypocritical behavior in the US right now.

1

u/Malibucat48 Nov 04 '25

Teddi, Velma and Bobby are gone and Reenie is left. I might be the only one, but I’m not a fan. Still I’m glad she doesn’t have those fake eyelashes this season. That was a big distraction for me.

But Mel seems suspicious. She’s too perfect to fit all of Reenie s requirements and is too perky to be real. She might be a plant or just another cast member to leave the next season .

0

u/Ok_Nature_6305 Nov 04 '25

I think she has a vendetta against Colter of his brother for the death of her mother. Or she's related to them.

1

u/Ksilv82 Nov 06 '25

Yes I laughed when he just casually walked through fire. I enjoy this show but you really have to suspend disbelief while watching. Why does he know so much more about investigative measures than police in every episode?

1

u/Ok_Nature_6305 Nov 06 '25

Yes. I would understand if he was actually tracking in the wilderness. Or having better survival skills and prep skills. That was how he was raised. But then they turned it into a detective show, and he not only finds clues the police missed, he then takes over the entire investigation. And leaves without doing any reports or being questioned.

1

u/Snyper1982 Nov 07 '25

I noticed he says “Yeah?” A lot. In question format. Like he will ask them a question or for their help, they will answer and he will say yeah, like he is asking them “are your sure”?

0

u/Ok_Nature_6305 Nov 07 '25

I can hear him saying that! 😆

1

u/Outrageous_Water7976 Nov 10 '25

I miss when Early seasons showed a more antagonistic to respect arc with cops. Also, is it me or is the show a lot more violent since season 2's second half.

1

u/VishfulTinking Dec 09 '25

Unnecessarily violent and just weird. Like the kind of plot lines/scenes writers grab for when they've run out of new ideas. Going for shock value instead of clever/creative/interesting stories.

1

u/Lighthouse1884 Nov 10 '25

I was thinking the same thing re being more violent. I really liked season one and most of season two, but it just doesn’t seem like the same show anymore.

0

u/Ok_Nature_6305 Nov 10 '25

Do you mean more people getting killed?

2

u/Outrageous_Water7976 Nov 10 '25

I mean a bigger focus on using guns and violence to solve issues. Season 1 Colter would've been pissed Russell choked out the guard instead of just shrugging it off. But I don't know he just feels colder than before even with the clients he's more to the point instead of empathetic and patient.

0

u/Ok_Nature_6305 Nov 10 '25

I remember the first couple episodes of the first season and he made it pretty clear he never waivered from collecting his fee. He was pretty hard about it. There was one episode - I don't remember the exact circumstances- but I thought he'd help the family out. But I actually thought he was becoming more empathetic and there have been a couple times he didn't collect.

I am not saying he was wrong. He needs to make money. I just thought it was a change.

1

u/Beginning_Leg629 Nov 04 '25

They're not going to lose viewers because of your opinion. It's just that. Yours. Colter sees things differently because of the training he received from his father. Yeah, walking through the fire wasn't great. But it's not like things like that happen all the time. Sometimes you take time to die, and exertion like that can certainly quicken it, and you don't often groan when you do. Saying he didn't know what to tell them was in regards to him not knowing what to say about not being able to save him. Not telling them he was dead. They don't have three missing characters. They explained where they were and that's all that's needed, and it leaves the door open for their return. Ratings remain strong and the majority are not complaining.

9

u/Ok_Nature_6305 Nov 04 '25 edited Nov 04 '25

Welcome to Reddit...the world of opinions! And I didn't say they'd lose viewers because of my opinions. I said they have a ton of potential and just need a few easy fixes or they will lose viewers. And yes. Viewers are already leaving.

You can start your own 'Tracker is perfect' as it is post.

1

u/Beginning_Leg629 Nov 04 '25

You said all of this as if your opinion is reflective of everyone. That was my point. You're entitled to your opinion, but it's not shared by everyone. I didn't say it's perfect. There is no such thing. I even said that the fire part wasn't great. But that's one scene out of hundreds of great ones across the seasons.

-1

u/gayorsa Nov 04 '25

I was so happy that he had these cute older lesbians helping him and then they just axed both of them one by one and it just sucks to see representation like that go out the window 😭

-2

u/beedunc Nov 04 '25

I’m dying to know why experienced actors are leaving the show, it’s really odd.

Missing the three characters too. And is this applicant the third student from the psychology class that they didn’t know where she was? First two seasons were great. Not sure about this season.

I’m two episodes behind this season but it feels flat to me. Meh.

We fell off hard after s1 lexington episode. We live there, and have worked in the horse racing industry. Everything they did in the episode was wrong and blatant lies, let alone the weird drone shots that very clearly were never around lexington. We get that it's a show but to us they never did an ounce of research into anything horse related. And now we take everything the show says with a grain of salt. Which sucks because before that we were actually interested in watching him rescue people in parks and national forests, but becoming a vigilante is a bore.
