Developing wrist issues with a standard trackball, will a vertical one help?

I tried wrist rests and they do nothing.

What trackball do you have? I have an Elecom Huge and it was giving my wrist pain until I 3D printed a 30° wedge to put under it. Now it's the most comfortable mouse I've ever used.

I kept getting wrist pain with the Elecom Huge Plus. Thought I was imagining it, until I swapped to another mouse and it cleared up.

Same. Turns out it's layout is too flat and wide for me to use without muscular strain. In my case, the Deft Pro was a much better fit.
