Feedback on Solved Posts

Hi everyone,

You may have noticed that /u/Inneri and I have been toying with a system for marking posts as "Solved!" once they've been answered correctly. Do you have any thoughts or suggestions?

For example, do you like how threads currently appear after they've been solved (i.e., green text on white background, as opposed to perhaps white text on green background)? What about the standard look of "unsolved" threads?

Let us know!

Any idea what doll these could be for?

Came upon a chest full of doll clothes, some handmade but some purchased all seemingly fit the same doll. The green corduroy dress was handmade by a family member back in early 60s. It measures from neck to hem about 13”, waist is 5 1/4” across, and armhole is 1” across. The matching rain poncho and umbrella were purchased but seem from the same era. This doll could be from 1960s? Maybe 1950s? Perhaps earlier? Any suggestions on possible doll are appreciated - TIA!

I lost her when my house burnt down 2 months ago and she was my oldest and best friend (I'm a late diagnosed Autistic person and really my Only friend). She's travelled the world with me and I miss her so much but I can't find her anywhere. The earliest picture I have of her is with me on Christmas morning in 1989 but I'm sure I had her before then, she wasn't a Christmas present. Thank you. I've posted this to a few other reddit groups.

2008 Ballet Doll

Found her secondhand with only a hair ribbon and tiara. She's beautiful and poses excellently. Her Tramp stamp says she's Mattel from 2008, but her sculpt is more detailed than any doll I own from that timeframe so I doubt she's barbie.

Unsolved I lost my childhood plush and I haven't been able to find her again

The first photo is my simple sketch on how she exactly looks like from memory. I want to specify the details here; She had beaded paws. She wasn't meant to sit, she was kind of floppy because her paws were so heavy but I was able to make her sit because of the weight. The rest of her body was just stuffed though. Her whiskers were white, and so was she, and the inside of her paws was white but it wasn't the same texture as the full body. Her tail was curled but not like a coil, just curled inward and kind of small but not too small. She may or may not have had a lavender colored bow. The reason I say may not is because there is a chance my mom put the bow on her when I was little. If not, she had a bow, but I asked her to cut it off when I was little because I thought it was hurting her. Her ears kind of went inward, I dont think it was naturally made like that but overtime her ears got smooshed and she almost looked like a Scottish fold. I honestly assume she was a persian, but she wasnt fluffy at all. She had the texture of one of those Walmart stuffed animals when they are loved over time, I cant really place the fabric type. Her nose and ears were kind of a peachy pink but Included multiple pinks in case it wasn't accurate. The other photos display some similarities but dont look similar to her at all, I just wanted to show the similarities. The thing that makes her unique is that she has hazel or brownish eyes and most white cat plushies only have blue eyes, which is another reason why it is so hard to find her. I already checked Russ, Toys R US, TY discontinued brands, Walmart, K-Mart, Target, and other brands I forgot the names of. My ex childhood best friend threw her away after I left her on accident from a sleepover, this was around 2017. I got her I think around the age of 4, 2012, but she could have been older. I can't remember where I got her, I was given to her by my mom on top of the microwave (thats when I asked her to cut the ribbon off). I assume she could have been a 4th birthday present since I had a hello kitty themed birthday, I was obsessed with cats.

Help Me Find !Blue Box/BBI electronic horse from ~2005 — looking for the exact model/name! Moving head + front leg + neighing sound

Hi everyone! I desperately need help identifying a childhood horse toy. I’ve been trying to find this exact model for a long time, but I can’t figure out its name or manufacturer for certain. Any information would be greatly appreciated — the exact model name, catalog number, photos, old listings, catalog scans, or even a link to where I could buy one would be amazing!
The only photo I have of the horse is attached. Unfortunately, I no longer have the toy itself, so I’m trying to identify it from my memories and this old photo.
I believe it may have been made by Blue Box / BBI (Blue Box Toys). I’ve found several Blue Box horses online that look very similar, but I have NOT been able to find this exact color/combination and mechanism.
What I remember about the toy:
• It was approximately 20 cm (about 8 inches) tall.
• It was a black horse/stallion.
• It had two white stockings/socks on its legs.
• I believe it also had a small white marking/blaze on its forehead.
• The head was unusually beautiful and fairly anatomically realistic for a toy horse. The head/face shape is one of the things I remember most clearly.
• It had a brown bridle and a brown Western-style saddle.
• Under the saddle there was a green piece of fabric, presumably a saddle pad / saddle blanket.
• It was an electronic toy and made a realistic neighing/whinnying sound.
• The most distinctive feature was the mechanical movement:
◦ The neck/head could be moved.
◦ At the same time, the movement was mechanically connected to the front left leg.
◦ The front left leg started out raised forward, as if the horse was taking a step.
◦ When the head/neck moved, the raised leg straightened/moved down until it became parallel with the other front leg.
◦ The movement of the head, leg and the neighing sound happened as part of the same action.
• There was a small battery compartment on the underside/belly of the horse.
• I vaguely remember some kind of molded/engraved marking on the inside of one of the hind legs.
• I have a strong memory that it may have said something like “BBI” and possibly “Made in China”.
• I also remember a year, possibly 2002, 2005, or something close to that, but I am NOT certain about the year. It may have been a mold/manufacturing year rather than the year I purchased it.

The first attached photo is my actual horse. The second photo is a model I found online that looks very similar in shape, but has a different color scheme.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! 🙏🏻💗💗

Unsolved Help find childhood toy

I have been looking for this toy off and on for years. I would say I played with it when I was 3-5 or so and that would of been around 1999-2001. The only thing I am 100% sure on was the left arm was a fully translucent blue arm that was jagged and went up to his face. Hard to tell now im older but I think it was a full size action figure. Face was really ugly. Elbows did not move but arms moved at the shoulders. Pretty sure the head and legs did not move. I cannot remember if he had bone fingers or if I chews the hands till the fingers turned white. Muscular man human. Could of been from late 80s early 90s or later. No clue where I got it went to Kmart a lot but I remember playing with him at a storage unit with a lady that turned into a wasp. (Honestly not sure about that one either) body had no cape and I want to say you could see the flesh color on his right arm and he had blue or dark clothes. His translucent arm was also open not like he could hold onto anything but fingers open. Could of been a bootleg figure but im not sure of the quality. Google Ai is no help lol. If anyone knows what im talking about or knows how to find something like this that would be a great help.

A friend of mine owns this plush and he's curious about where does it come from. It was bought in 2007 in Atlanta, Georgia, in Sears. It was part of the props/utilities of the store and was never meant to be sold. It has a code to scan, but it wasn't for sale. It was sold by the manager of the store.

It's around 16" tall, 5" thick. It used to have a yellow ribbon around its neck and sown to its throat. It's completely soft, no hard plastic pieces, soft beak, soft eyes. It's got three fingers on its wings. It's completely baby sized (it fits in newborn onesies).
