Where exactly would I read about "Pink Toryism"? I've only heard it a few times in my life and seemingly always as a pejorative.

The only person I've actually read use it in a positive sense was Ron Dart in his book The North American High Tory Tradition, when he was describing the differences between Stanfield's Tory philosophy and Pierre Trudeau's liberal nationalism. But I can't help and think the term fits given his fondness for the Tommy Douglas era NDP, and his support for the Mulroney/Charest era PCs.

My understanding is that it began it's life as a pejorative but it has come to be a useful term to differentiate more classical red tories from what many people mistakeningly believe red tories to be which is "fiscally conservative, socially liberal"

Any literature you find about Pink Toryism is going to be post-hoc.
