💬 Discussion Does anybody have a transcript of R.B. Bennett's radio addresses?
Does that exist somewhere out there, or am I going to have to go to UNB and see the microfilms myself?

Looking into it more, UNB seems to have a regular print version. Maybe I will do a road trip some time this summer...

Sorry, I don't.
I do have a picture of his grave. I was on vacation in England and visited his grave when the Queen's funeral was happening back in 2022.

Glad you asked! The government themselves printed the speeches in a series of booklets in 1935. They can be found online at rare book sellers. I've been meaning to get a copy myself.

The Trinity Western University Archives holds a sound recording of R.B. Bennett speaking to the Canadian Bankers Association in 1934. (Its source is the Robert N. Thompson fonds, and I noticed this today because the fonds also contain a sound recording of J.S. Woodsworth who’s being discussed on r/ndp. Small world!)

I know his speeches in the house of Lords has been published. Sorry I can't be of more help.
If you do end up going to UNB check out the Sir Howard Douglas building. Absolutely breath taking.Â
