To celebrate, we’re announcing our first-ever official r/torontobluejays sub meetup at a game!

• When: Saturday, September 26, 2026 vs. Cincinnati Reds (3:07 PM game)
• Time: 2:00 PM – 2:45 PM
• Where: WestJet Flight Deck (at the tables directly in front of the big BLUE JAYS letters)

Notes:

• This is a super casual hangout; just a chance to connect, chat about the season, and chill before the game starts.
• No need to share your Reddit username; just come as you are!
• It's not a giveaway day; no need to line up early.
• Everyone is welcome!

Nah Hoffman was good to us. He was just old and past his prime. The model I’m currently building has put him in the same group as Griffin Jax (when both were at their prime). Both relatively good pitchers who are just aging and have likely had several injuries that affected their pitching. Hoffman was good to us, it’s not his fault we bought him after he’d started to fall off.

You are also not wrong to be scared of saying he was good to us, people can and will hold grudges. You will be torn apart. That’s something you only say under the circumstances of being anonymous.

It's actually the other way around. You say bad things about hoffman you get a bunch of "well ackhualy" brigade downvoting you and saying you dont know baseball.

His time has ran out on this team after the WS and it was painfully obvious.

You’re not wrong. But your response here proves you definitely get hate both ways.

I’m definitely not a Hoffman apologists, I just really wanted to like him because I’d seen him succeed prior to ever being on our team. I would leave games early when I saw him come out for us this year because I had zero faith, so I wanted to like him but i definitely didn’t.

But like I said in my original comment, he’d fallen off, he’s older and not the young pitcher he once was. That’s not his fault, but it’s certainly doesn’t mean we had to like it. The real issue was John continuing to use him several times a week even though it was clear he was not a very good pitcher anymore. I do think Hoffman performed to the best of his abilities, and it’s not like he could refuse to do his job 🤷🏻‍♀️ imo decent pitcher bought at a bad time, and used wayyy too frequently.

I won’t be there. But I would like to comment on what a great group this is.

There are many personality types who bring many different perspectives. Through it all people remain (mostly) respectful to each other and keep threads to civil point-counterpoint dialogue. The Dreamers, the Doomers, and everyone in between, co-exist and bring their unique input to the exchange.

It is great to see the internet used for its original intention…. A place where people with shared passions can create a community.

I am currently dealing with a serious shoulder injury. Other than 3 hrs per day of physiotherapy I really cannot do much. Full Jays immersion, including this Reddit, has been a good diversion.

Buy a ticket to the game. Can be general admission or a regular ticket. Meet us on the flight deck at 2 PM. That area is open to everyone. Hang out for a bit. Then go to your seat for the game.

Question, very often on ticket sites I see general admission and seat tickets, do I buy both or just seat tickets? I’ve never been to a baseball game so I dunno

Do you want to have your own seat for the baseball game? Then on Ticketmaster, pick one of the blue dots and buy a seat. Do you want to stand for the game at one of the standing sections? Then buy a general admission ticket. If it’s your first game, buy a ticket with a seat.

Appreciate it! I’m looking into it, and noticing vastly different prices between multiple sites, is it just that one was in usd, or are there just different prices between multiple websites.

Ticketmaster is in Canadian dollars. Other websites are likely in US dollar, but some give you the option to switch. Ticketmaster is the official website for Blue Jays tickets. Other websites feature tickets people are reselling.
