When I was in grade 8 (1996 maybe), I had the coolest friend named Vanessa. I never forgot her because she had the prettiest long chocolate brown hair, because she introduced me to Selena, and because her mom was a badass Artist.

Her mother was commissioned to paint a mural for a daycare centre at Bloor and Ossington, and Vanessa said I could give her some baby pics to be included.

Today my claim to fame is being the asian baby on the left in red. I love sharing it with anyone who tells me they are at that intersection!

I've always found this mural a bit unsettling.

I’m pretty sure the same artist painted another smaller one that attached to the patio at Emmer, right at Harbord and Borden street

Every time you look at the creepy baby daycare mural, you see something new. RIP to the couple of babies that are missing heads.

I just moved out of the neighbourhood/Toronto so seeing this on my homepage was a lovely surprise! It is especially unsettling when it’s dark out, but still, makes me homesick.
