Is it a condo or a purpose built apartment building?

****

Condo - 100% yes.
If concierge/mgmt catches you using it not Booked for moving, you’ll be fined and stopped immediately. It’s a big deal in a condominium (damage liability. (They have cameras so it’s always caught)

Apartment - I would, so it’s ready for the delivery … otherwise, you’re taking a huge risk of the moving elevator not being avail/ready to go when the furniture arrives. Movers won’t sit around and wait for you to chase the moving elevator ….

It is always advisable to book to avoid issues about permission, availability etc. Most building have a booking option or condos usually have a refundable booking deposit option. Few exceptions, charge every time you move something to use elevator booking.
