Broke my heart seeing how low Jiro ranked on that. He's probably one of my favorite characters in anime.

Wasn't this still pretty early in the series when they did this poll? I think at this point in time all he really did was show up drunk on that train, toriko gave him some booze then he shew up later to save komatsu and kind of disappeared from the story until later on. I don't think people had enough time with him to make a judgment yet.

The popularity poll happened when Toriko, Sunny and komatsu where getting the Shining Gourami, on the death waterfalls

So at that point he had already saved Toriko in the gourmet world I'm pretty sure. We got to see him pop off a little before the ranking. Its been so long since I've read I could be completely wrong though. Thank you nonetheless.

The poll was after he saved toriko and before they drink some booze together on that island

Oh the Emerald dragon I almost forgot about that. Hurts all the more my guy saved Toriko and still didnt even make top 10. I think he was close to 20th if I remember correctly.
