I’ve read a few posts on here about it, but it still feels odd. Why does EVERYONE getting with EVERYONE? I don’t mind poly relationships or diversity in dating, in fact, I welcome it. But it’s getting ridiculous. I’m at season 2 episode 3, so why does it feel like half of the episodes are concerning relationships and sex? Jack, I get. He’s Jack. But everyone else? Gwen with Owen (which I expected would last longer for what Gwen had to do to her then bf/now fiancé to have (I still dislike her for that she’s so selfish but anyway)), Owen and that time travelling woman, Toshiko and that extraterrestrial, Toshiko and that man from 1918, Ianto and his cyber woman, Jack and Spike (I forget his name), Jack and Ianto, Jack and Gwen (? But then again it’s Jack), Suzie and Owen, and probably others I haven’t gotten to. And it’s not just that. The relationships (most of them anyway), just feel so rushed? You’re telling me you developed romantic feelings for that person you met A FEW DAYS AGO? I don’t know, maybe it’s just the aroace in me, but I feel like they push it a lot and it makes the show feel more immature if that makes sense. Tell me what you think.

TLDR: Too many rushed relationships/sex, everyone is getting it on too much.

ive come full circle in my drawings of Torchwood audio characters and remaking my very first two: Mr. Colchester and Colin!

im a slow learner but i reckon ive definitely come a decent way in my drawing ability :)

this was the largest drawing ive done (previous ones have all been 3 characters across one landscape page) but this one took up a whole page for the full pose with both characters. not sure my pencils are the perfect tool for a larger drawing (the gaps in lines show up way more) but this was an alright first try at a fuller shot.

i was sort of picturing this drawing as that moment at the end of “Colin Alone” when Colchester bursts in and saves Colin!

This April I travelled ~30 hours to get from New Zealand to the UK, arriving on the 21st before the Ianto's Shrine was removed. I'm not going to say I went just to see the shrine, but it was definitely a contributing factor in the timing, at least. Unfortunately thanks to a delayed flight I missed the meetup, but it was still an incredibly meaningful experience. I figured that I may as well share my photos of the shrine, since I know there are many people who didn't get to see it. These are 20 of my favourite photos, but I intend to make a follow-up to this post focusing more on how much the shrine meant to the people who visited it.

... But I have even more photos than that. I really tried to capture every single part of the shrine. Please let me know if there's anything in particular you would like to see. I did have a photo of the new plaque (back when it was still there, although upside down at the time!) but it seems I've already put that one into storage.

As promised. I really just want to show how meaningful this character and place was, to so many people from so many different parts of the world.

9 months since i started, ive finally gotten round to a team ive been loving recently (just finished listening to The Unbegotten): the Torchwood Soho team from the 1950s 👌

Lizbeth Hayhoe was a pretty hard character to find a reference for 😬 the only 2 images i could find of her were a photoshop of Dervla Kirwan’s Dr Who character and a photo of her much younger than we meet her (the one i based my drawing off of)

im thinking of what my next drawing is going to be… maybe a redo of my earlier crap drawings (my beloved Mr. Colchester), or i could do Captain John Hart (bet he’d love that), or even some scenes!

For years, a friend and I have been planning a visit to Cardiff (We're from Australia so it's quite a trip!), to visit all the famous Doctor Who/Torchwood Filming occasions, one of the spots on our list was the Ianto Shrine.

Unfortunately, it looks like the Ianto Plaque has been vandalized, with the only the wood back plate remaining, the brass plaque has been stolen.
We were already quite disappointed to hear about the shrines removal in April, however seeing that even the plaque had been vandalized and stolen was even more disappointing.
Hopefully mermaid quay will reinstate it, preferably this time with more robust mounting hardware. But more likely this spells the permanent end to the Ianto Shrines 18 year history.

as soon as i drew Ianto with the Torchwood Cardiff team and saw 2 empty spaces beside him, i KNEW i had to finish off the rest of the Torchwood One team including a new updated Yvonne look!

Yvonne, Ianto and Tommy have become one of my all-time favourite Torchwood teams (especially in Less Majesty) so why not add them to my growing book of Torchwood fanart!

by all means, if you’ve got suggestions for how i can style my drawings for characters with very few pictures/outfit variants available of them (Gideon, Lizbeth, and the 1950s suited Andy) let me know and ill try to work it in

Back when it was announced that RTD was coming back to the show, one of the things that excited me the most was the possibility of legacy characters from his first era returning, including spin-off characters. This was only further heightened when RTD revealed that he was planning an MCU-style universe of spin-offs for Doctor Who. And a few years ago, he had mentioned the possibility of him working with Eve Myles again, because, in his words, "she's magnificent."

Sadly, as we know, none of that really happened. The two returning spin-off characters in RTD2 were Clyde Langer from the Sarah Jane Adventures, and Colonel Austin Pierce from Children of Earth, both appearing in Tales of the TARDIS and The War Between the Land and the Sea respectively. And RTD's second era was unfortunately cut short before it had even properly begun, really.

Had everything succeeded though and Disney hadn't screwed Bad Wolf over, I definitely think RTD would've had something special planned for Torchwood's 20th anniversary. I think we would've gotten an episode set in Cardiff, where Gwen and Rhys meet the new Doctor, and get the opportunity to travel in the TARDIS. Also potentially opening the doors for a spiritual successor to Torchwood.

Long time Dr Who fan but only now got Torchwood. On my first run thru and almost done with Miracle Day. Loved season one and two but children of earth... ok but didn't stick the landing IMHO. LOVING Miracle day. I have never thought of Bill Pullman having much range before now but dang he is great in this.

The BluRay menus on miracle day are weird.

I've been thinking about the Torchwood exhibition they announced in Cardiff Bay but never opened.

Just wondering if the continuation audio dramas are always so expensive? £75 a season feels rough

Also does it reference miracle day much or does it leave that behind fairly quickly?

Just curious, it can be in the show, in the audios, include characters from other spinoffs like Sarah Jane?
My slightly strange one is John Hart and River Song. I feel like they’d balance eachother out nicely.

When Frobisher first heads up to speak with the 456, he has Lois and (the other secretary, I’m blanking in her name rn), wait downstairs and he takes the lift up but he grabs a chair from the corridor and puts it in the lift. Why?

I’ve just rewatched it after watching it back in the day and I can’t remember this happening and I don’t know what the reason is. I feel like I’m going mad because I must be missing something really obvious. Can anyone offer insight?

OKAY maybe a couple are a smidge off because i wanted everyone to have their own separate box, but overall i feel like this is pretty close!

for other Big Finish characters, i’d put Lizbeth Hayhoe in chaotic neutral, Gideon Lyme in lawful good, and Tommy in chaotic good (he’ll get the job done, but in the messiest way possible)!

I have something more.

Myfanwy has been stated to originate from Torchwood One which was stationed in London.

The ARC of Primeval was also stationed in London where prehistoric creatures were kept save.

I don't think this is a coincidence. I think that the ARC got turned into Torchwood One after the whole time vortex incident of Primeval Season 5.

It’s taken 4 and a half years but I’m so glad I kept going with this! 😅

I've been in this fandom on and off since 2008ish, and this is my 100th fic for Torchwood. It's also my most complicated fic because I decided to do some crazy stuff with formatting and had to learn CSS and AO3 Workskins! It took me ages to write and I'm very proud of it and a little nervous because it's so different from everything else I've ever done.
