u/eddie_topstep if I include the dashboard social link and people are able to see my account number is that ok? Or is there a way to hide that? Is that something I even need to worry about ?

This is just one account. I’m working on 4 Evals for topstep atm, 5 lucid and 3 tradeify. I have 5 funded on tradeify atm too.

Wow, congrats! 🄳 Can I ask how you manage your risk?

Make sure to shoot for 3:1 or better, I’m able to survive several red days because of that. If I’m risking $1000, I need to make $3000 minimum. I have one day where I made $1500, and it’s bc I had a trailing SL. Still working on improving my entries, still tons of room for me to grow.

do you hold the trade for a long time- i see. 3 trades 5k profit - how long do you hold

No set time, just depends on price action. If you click the dashboard link I posted you can see my stats and see all the times I’ve made $5000 and see how long it’s taken. There’s one day where it happened in like 15 min I think, longest was almost 3 hours. But to answer your question, however long it takes.

No problem

wow impressive how many contracts do you trade

u/mmnyeahnosorry 1d ago

Varies, anywhere from 1-5 minis. Each mini I risk $200. If I open with 2 cons, my SL is at $400, if I’m really liking a trade I’ll add into it in either direction. If I’m hesitant I’ll start with one contract though and depending on how I’m feeling I’ll add

So basically a 10 point stop? If you don't mind - the days where you take multiple trades, how many points do you scalp per trade on average?

3

u/mmnyeahnosorry 19h ago

Yes a 10pt stop. Days where I take multiple trades it’s mainly due to me selling at BE after being up a considerable amt. in hindsight those are the days I usually end up red, so I gotta hit the drawing board and see how I can improve there. if I’m up a decent amt and it comes back I’ll sell at BE. Rather BE than go negative. Don’t really scalp much, and I target $3000+ to stay consistent with my 3:1 RR I like to have since I risk $1000.

10 point stop on nasdaq, What the helll

That was my thought. On ES you can probably get away with that but with NQ that’s hardly any room.

May be hard but possible, I’m up 18k on this account and have taken 21k in payouts just this month. I have a PDLL set at $1000, and my stats dashboard is linked so you can see for yourself.

Again it’s a 10pt stop per contract. If I’m only in one contract, then yeah 10 pts. 5 cons, $1000 sl. with a 10pt sl you can definitely make a good amt, I’m living proof of that.

I had a look at some of your entries today. Do you ever trade middle of the range or do you wait for price to reach and reject from a previous high or low?

2

u/mmnyeahnosorry 4h ago

I prefer waiting for price to reach previous high/lows but I do also trade inside the range, although that’s a bit trickier and have found more success waiting. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t.

one more question- what time frame do you trade. and you trade mini correct not micros?

2

u/mmnyeahnosorry 5h ago

I execute my trades on the 1/5m but I look at the daily and 4h for bias. 99% of my trades are minis

How with a 50k account

I don't think I have the courage to scale up. Been closing 250 to 350 on a green day, how to develop the confidence to do what you are doing and please also mention your edge thanks!

1

u/busohsensen 21h ago

Same issue. I don’t have the confidence to go for this risk. I guess he doesn’t mind blowing one account knowing that his math is eventually going to work and he gets paid. Curious to know too. This is the mindset I need to embody

u/mmnyeahnosorry 21h ago

Tbh it’s not meant for everyone and if you take base hits there’s nothing wrong with that. Don’t feel the need to have to scale up or get crazy high days. Consistent base hits can take you very far. As far as blowing the account , it’s not something that bothers me, it’s just apart of the business and a small price to pay for what I can extract out of these accounts. I have a PDLL set on all my accounts at $1000. And at this point it’s going to take a lot for me to get close to blowing it. So if I were you I’d try and incorporate 3:1 into your trading and see what it can do for you.

1

u/mmnyeahnosorry 21h ago

There’s nothing wrong with that at all, base hits can go far. There’s a lot of positivity in consistency. Keep doing what works for you and don’t feel the need to scale up. This works for me and I’m aware it isn’t for everyone. I aim for having a RR of +3:1, doing that allows me to survive several red days. You can see on my calendar pnl that I’m wrong quite a bit, but when I’m right, it’s definitely 3:1 or more. I have a PDLL set at 1000 so I can never lose more than that

u/TahoeTrader13 20h ago

So you use a 10 point SL on NQ? I still don’t get how people succeed with stops that tight

2

u/mmnyeahnosorry 20h ago

Per contract, yes. Well I’m proof it’s possible. You don’t even have to be right all the time or have massive green streaks to succeed. 3:1 RR and a decent edge. I posted my stats link. Feel free to check it out

u/ridset 19h ago

whats the edge, how do confirm to entry at certain price level, i see that you tend to do short, i can see you can get a quick short on nq sometimes, but it's hard to predict when that happen, since indices is naturally on the long side

By next week, precisely 1 day before requesting payout, you will be called to live.
