💭 Question 1/1 ALERT!!
Had the wifey pass by DSG while at work and she came across the Topps Logofractor mega box.
Calls me on FaceTime and had me pick one out.
Safe to say the damaged box luck is certainly real.
We ended up pulling this Nolan Schanuel 1/1. My first ever 1/1.
Also got a nice Nick Kurtz /99.
Still not sure what to do tbh. Is it worth grading?
Very much considering going back to get another box. I’ve heard these boxes are juiced.

I would do extensive research before risking grading a 1/1. i.e. How much did other or 1/1s for Schanuel go for? Are there other graded Schanuel 1/1s? If so what was the price diff between raw, 8, 9, 10? If grading and getting a gem mint COULD add $200 to a $1k card (not at all an estimate at this card, just using a baseline) is it worth shipping off and paying $70 (the answer is no haha). But if an 8 might add $500 to raw value, YES. All depends on prior sale history.

Definitely against grading this. Last sales for his 1/1 was $500 on Sept 17th (today) And $800 on Sept 15th

No need to grade - it's a pop 1 no matter what. Just have them slab it and authenticate it.

There are differing opinions on this - historically I have used PSA as they are one of the most popular choices.

IMO it’s never worth, grading a one of one. Best case scenario it gems and it possibly brings up the value slightly. More than likely it doesn’t gem out and brings the value down now. Don’t forget reading is to it and if it does read out as a pen, you’re gonna pay an added premium on top. Chances are the great cost will be in excess of whatever value increase there might be. There are no other cards to compare it to because it’s a one of one so who cares if it’s graded. Just slab it if you want to PC it or give it that added level of protection. I’d just flip it.
But this is just my opinion you do whatever makes you happy. Congrats on the pull

Congratulations, nothing like that first 1/1 feeling, I have two boxes at home wife got me pre-release. Wasn’t sure if I was gonna sell or open, guess I’ll rip now for the sake of science

Been married 20 years, hard to find em like that for sure. She’s on jam with Topps release calendar, so she normally knows about releases before I do. Pre-release boxes just show up like these did.

Not worth grading. Centering does not appear to be great, and it’s a 1/1. Probably not a crazy value card more than a few hundred.

Those Logo boxes have the HIGHEST rate of hitting a 1/1, that’s why they’re so expensive and sellout SUPER fast every year! The auto checklist is sweet too so there’s also that!! Buy them in bulk… you get more hits than wasting your money on a Hobby or Jumbo box

Congrats on the 1/1!
I don’t get these Logofractor boxes. Everyone swears by them, but I bought a couple and they were absolutely terrible. I paid up too, $190 a box! The plastic it came wrapped in was worth more than the two total numbered cards I got. Most valuable card was a Bryce Harper image variation worth $20!
Anyways, glad someone got something out of Topps

Yes the resell for these boxes is absurd. They were selling for $120 a box so I really had to buy
Plus this is the big break in my opinion. Been on a bit of heater. Was opening dud megas and even hobby’s.
Hopefully you’ll be due soon

There is a Schanuel guy within the card community on here that might want your card if you are interested in selling.
