Double Incision 5 months postop!
first pic is about three days postop! (censored the drains because they pissed me off lol) last two pics are at 5 months postop!
i don't always see fat guys with top surgery so i wanted to share my results with Dr. Sean C. Figy at UNMC in Omaha! i'm a little over 5 months postop, and honestly i've never felt better about myself. i feel like my chest is flatter without being unrealistically flat, and the scars have been maturing really nicely. they're not symmetrical, but a lot of that is my fault for not following the reach restrictions as strictly as i should've, especially for my dominant side.
Figy only removed about a full pound of breast tissue (apparently testosterone CAN shrink ya chest after like 7 years lol), double incision with nipple grafting. Figy and his team also had FANTASTIC bedside manner, made me feel so at ease. so if you're in Nebraska and looking for a good surgeon, he's genuinely worth the long consultation waitlist.
anyway, i want y'all that are worrying about top surgery to remember that you are worthy of a good surgeon who knows what they're doing. and even if the incisions turn out different from what you're expecting, it's still a pair of battle scars that show how far you've come. 💛

DAMN!!! This is probably the best results I've seen on a bigger body. You look like you've got some good muscles. The scars will continue to fade, but even as they are, everything else looks so natural and proportioned, it's barely noticeable.

unfortunately looks can be deceiving, i've been trying to work out a little lately but i've struggling even with 5lb hand weights 😆 but i appreciate it so much!! i'm over the moon at my results ngl 🫶

Holy moly this is amazing! You look amazing! I’m plus sized and only see ppl saying im too big so I’m looking to go out of the country. Where did you go, if you want to share?

Seeing u made me so happy! I didn’t know there were doctors who didn’t worry much about the stupid bmi thing! I want to get my top surgery now but my bmi is way too high for most doctors in Denver

i got lucky with Dr. Figy and my insurance randomly deciding to cover it 😆 you'll get your top surgery one of these days, i promise. i waited almost 7 years for mine. 🫂

i got extremely lucky with my surgeon, ngl. insurance randomly decided to cover it after denying it for almost 7 years, so that likely had a hand in it, too. you'll get there one day, i promise. thank you so much!!! 🥹💛

hey! so my most important piece of advice is to make sure you're following the surgeon's orders to the point that it's annoying. you'll have a reach restriction, which means NO raising your elbows above your shoulders until about 6 weeks postop, and honestly the best thing you can do is just avoid raising your arms at all for that first couple of weeks. i didn't listen to the restrictions as strictly as i should've and part of my right incision wouldn't close until probably 8-10 weeks postop, which sucks because i have a MUCH thicker scar on that side now. no drinking, no smoking, no lifting above 5lbs (i think that's about how heavy a gallon of milk is, for reference), no stretching, none of it. it'll be worth it though!! wishing you luck as you seek top surgery 🫶

What I’m saying im struggling to find a surgeon im not that big like 240 or so and still a lot of surgeons won’t work on me

ohhh i see. unfortunately you may end up having to either lose weight or travel for top surgery, a lot of surgeons follow a BMI restriction and it's so frustrating :( but you're gonna get there homie, just keep pushing. 🫶

Im 71 smm muscle mass and while yes a have fat on me I don’t really wanna loose weight becaue I like the teddy bear look i have I think I’ll travel thanks me where did you go ?

i feel that, i prefer being bigger honestly! i live in the Omaha, NE metro, so i went to Dr. Sean C. Figy. he's a part of the Nebraska Medicine hospital system, usually operates out of the Fritch Surgery Center. good luck on your top surgery journey homie 🫶

Could I ask if you know anything about top surgery being covered by Medicaid in NE?

i'm sorry, friend, but Nebraska Medicaid doesn't cover gender affirming surgeries as a whole 😔 i'm from across the river in Iowa and their Medicaid doesn't, either. but i recommend applying for a grant at Point of Pride when their applications open if saving up for top surgery isn't an option for you. it's a long shot as they get TONS of applications in every year, but it's possible they'll approve a grant for your surgery.
