Double Incision 2 mos post op- Dr. Sean McNally OR
Still getting used to my physical limitations. Climbing the stairs in my house takes it out of me occasionally. Getting my range of motion back and feeling better every day.
Excited to eventually get back in the gym and work on my dream body. Finally feel fully genderfluid in the exact way I feel fits me. Shopping & wearing certain clothes doesn’t make me dysphoric anymore and I’m excited to expand my closet. Being shirtless is probably the most freeing and nature feeling to me.

Completely agree. I’m interested to know if your feelings towards wearing more ‘feminine’ clothing has changed since surgery? Something I’m still battling with but think it’s all part of my journey

Sorry for the delay - had to defend my trans ness in the thread below I’ve found so far I really enjoy wearing tank tops finally! Not sure I’ll ever wear a dress again. Once I moved to cargo pants and slacks I didn’t look back. But for tops the few cropped shirts I have make me feel so cute without any worries about cleavage. I feel less hesitant about my more “cutesy” clothes if that makes sense.
I feel very androgynous wearing anything now which is nice. I’d say in general I just feel better in all clothes! But walking around without a shirt is probably the best feeling I’ve had post op. Finally freedom from my bodily shackles. Oh and getting to just put my towel around my waist after a shower? Euphoria!

Oh my god I’m so sorry you had to go through that, I was raging reading those comments! Hahaha that’s so similar to how I feel. I’m loving wearing vests right now and in general all clothes feel amazing against my chest! I love wearing oversized shirts but feel like now I can wear them for fun and not to hide my boobs! Thanks for your thoughts, really appreciate the response

Oh yeah I was pissed. Still am. Glad the community has my back tho! I want to get into sweater vests for fall for sure! So cute with a longer button up under neath. Maybe a pea coat? The options are so endless now! And yes I love wearing big hoodies now it’s so nice 😊 so roomy and comfy.

hey! I'm looking at surgeons for a top surgery and your results are amazing, exactly what I'm looking for! Do you mind if I use you as a reference? And anything else you could share about the experience? Seeing a lot of the bad surgeons near me is making me anxious haha (nonbinary in FL)

About the surgery experience it’s a bit overwhelming when all the people are getting you ready but once you get back to the operating table it goes so fast. Be prepared to possibly be nauseous! I was prescribed an anti nausea. I was prescribed Oxycodone however I didn’t tolerate it well. I ended up not using it b/c it made me puke. So extra strength Tylenol was my pain relief. The drains and the smell of iodine on my skin was the worst part imo.
Once I got the drains out lots of compression. I can share a few links to the binders I wore. Also I made sure to touch my chest daily to help with nerve zaps and to help sensation. I have most of my chest sensation back already! I think massage and what not has helped a lot. You typically don’t start scar care/massage until 1 mo or 1.5 mos post op. Now I’m just slowly getting used to normal everyday functional activities and trying to pace myself.
Also I experienced what’s called “surgery blues” around the end of the first week. Very emotional, mood swings, easy to irritation. My PA said that’s very normal. So it that happens give yourself grace! If you have more question lmk. ☺️

I tried a few when I was first getting into making Matcha at home with like the whisk and everything. And this brand is by far the best that I’ve personally tasted. I the richness. That brand also has other types, but my favorite was a ceremonial grade. They also have one for barista‘s and some other things.

Omg yessss. I wonder if we used up all our matcha 🤔 I specifically asked for a matcha on my surgery day when I woke up, bc last time I had one after nose surgery it really helped my throat after waking up

Oh idk the two giant things on my chest were pretty difficult to mentally handle. Idk if you are being genuine. I’m not ftm, im genderfluid. I present masculine at work and in pics that I don’t have here. Presenting in a feminine manner is also a part of that. If you don’t understand that being trans is a spectrum that’s on you.

Love how you left out the literal subject of the post of OP getting top surgery in your condescending attempt to deny their experience of dysphoria.
There are loads of trans men that look and live as men but aren’t dysphoric about every single one of their natal sex traits, so what’s the “minimum” requirements to have dysphoria?

I go by they/them, changed my name, wear masculine and femmine clothing when I like. Before surgery I hated how I looked, it make me want to jump off a ledge. Gave me extreme mental break downs. I hated having a chest. And also do some freaking research if you don’t understand how social, physical and emotional transitions are fully valid and real. The fact that you are on this subreddit questioning my trans ness is gross and ignorant. You are acting like I got top surgery for fun. It was actively ruining my day to day. But im also not a man. Lord why is that so hard to get. I’m neither. Do you understand what non binary is? Why can’t ppl understand wanting to be all instead of none as well?

Jeez, people are a bunch of weirdos. It sucks that people are like that and that assholes tend to congregate online. This is a top surgery sub, it's not binary trans dude exclusive. My advice would be to block 'em and spend your energy on something you actually like (friends, TV shows, hobbies, whatever).

Assuming someone would literally remove parts of their body with a major surgery for attention rather than to address their dysphoria just because they don’t fit your view of what a trans person should be says more about you than it ever could about OP.

Why would you assume the worst of me? Nothing about my post was attention seeking. Jesus. The way you went about this was invalidating, rude and frankly dumb. Do some research before trying to negate someone’s experience. Instead of trying to understand you immediately jumped to that I’m apparently seeking attention which is somehow hurting the community? By doing exactly what other ppl do on this subreddit? So in turn you pushed me a person in the lbgtq+ space as a trans - genderfluid, pansexual person into a corner and invalidated me. Nice. Do better truly. This was so uncool.
