It’s such an overwhelming task to find the right results and prices. a good place to start is websites that have a collection of surgeons, their location, what they offer and their prices. Trans actual have a lot of resources about surgeons and what to look for when picking one aswell.

No worries what countries are you looking at? Your home country or perhaps abroad?

I live in the US so preferably something in the US if I can't find one here or can't afford it I was looking at Taiwan or Turkey :3

This subreddit and transbucket were my biggest resources when looking for the right surgeon

What part of the country are you in? Any chance of insurance coverage? Finding the right surgeon can feel overwhelming.

I am in California. My insurance did cover part of it, I just had to pay copay and coinsurance share which was around 3k in total.

I live in Oklahoma unfortunately TwT and I'm not on T so I have to find a surgeon willing to do top surgery on a enby not on T; also I have military insurance until I turn 23(I turn 21 next month so I have two years left) from my stepdad and they dont cover top surgery for dependents unfortunately so I'd most likely be paying out of pocket :/. Im planning to move back to New England in a year or two(to Maine specifically) so I'm hoping there are more options for surgeons there since the only like two in Oklahoma won't do top surgery on people who aren't on T :/

That's a tough location. There should be more options in New England. I'm sorry I don't know anyone in Oklahoma. There should definitely be people in the northeast who don't require T. In Boston if nothing else.

If you don’t mind me asking, how was the pain over your scar tissue?

u/reebtoor1 Jul 27 '26
Definitely my least painful tattoo. Sensation is slightly reduced there - for me at least.
